Actually the mod runs in 16 Bit mode.  You need to change your text file to 16 bit and keep 320x240.  I probably won't be able to fix the issue until I get my 64 Bit Ubuntu up and running.

Right- I usually have the text set to 16bit, I never have much reason to change it- well until now anyway. Thanks for trying, I'm not worried since I can get it to run 'normally' just in a totally odd way.

not to add to the confusion but I would like to add that...

I did some DC testing:

I tested Knights and Dragons Demo 2
Night Slashers X (which i realize wouldnt work on DC anyway in its state)
And Vampire Hunters.

Knights and Dragons and Night Slashers just repeats the Beats of Rage logo, then back to SEGA.
Vampire Hunters just loads and never runs.

I looked into those specific mods and it seems DC is out of memory.  I will look into it, not video.txt related.

What puzzles me a bit is that if memory is an issue than it's some kind of memory leak as the version of Return of Double Dragon that I used for testing the latest five or so Dreamcast builds is a modified version that requires less RAM than the original release.

@ FW, strange because I haven't changed anything.

@ CE, are you talking about 3.0 version of Dreamcast?  Because if you are than they have been kos if not then its using the old sh-elf compiler.  Please provide more detail in which one you are refering to where it worked.

When trying to boot Return of Double Dragon, the last two or three builds show the Beats of Rage by Senile Team splash screen for like half a second and then reset the Dreamcast, starting with this build of 3.0 (changes to file cache):

Previous versions of 3.0 did run the game, but had the sound issues discussed earlier.

I will look into it asap.  Today is my day off, so i can test quite a bit with Dreamcast and see what is going on

Since I have multiple paks i was testing them individually by changing the packfile buffer contents....   I forgot to put it back to "bor.pak" instead of what I was currently testing "Crisis_Evil_2.pak"

I've reimplemented the file menu as well.  But now its 100 % stable due to all the rewriting i have made in the past for pak file handling.
