As the title says; the command "bgspeed" flat out does not work anymore with this version. The version I last used was 3.2397, so I can't confirm if this is a new issue or not. I just tried 3.2635, and bgspeed still works.. so somewhere in between 635 and 727 the command broke.

EDIT: Just tried builds 718-726, the command doesn't work in those either. I'll keep testing...

If you need some in-between versions, you can modify the URLs for the daily snapshots to get access to earlier snapshots that have gone off the list.  You can get build 2658 and 2660 this way, for example.

 Tried bgspeed too and it doesn't work. But if there are bglayers, they will autoscroll as if background is moving/autoscroll. The level for testing that uses direction left.

Yeah, because no developers know what build it first appeared in, so we can't find the issue in the code.

@Ryomaneo

The point is that we shouldn't have to use that version.Then what's the point of even finding the problem,we should just stick to the old versions.No,we should be able to use whatever version we want.Someone will find the problem and deal with it.

@spawn

Ryomaneo is recommending testing build 2705 to see if it suffers from the bug.  Once the first version with the bug is determined, the bug can be fixed.

You could find the source of that bug the same way, by finding the first build where it didn't work.  Or almost any other bug, for that matter. Smiley

Alright,thanks for that bit of infromation.   I guess I'll have to try all of them eh?Hmm that will take a while.   Well if I find which one first has it,  I will post it here.

Well since i'm going to be doing this.  Can someone populate a list of problems?  It would help so that I know what else to look for when going through the versions.

Off the top of my head:
  • Under Video Options, some of the scaling filters no longer work: 2xSaI, Super 2xSaI, and Super Eagle.  I remember they worked in an earlier version sometime.

The last version where everything worked for good for me was 2615; but thats a Wii-only build. So somewhere after that it effed up.

Huh? Doesn't your first post say it works in 2635?

If you use my tip from earlier to access builds between 2650 and 2726 you can pinpoint the build that introduced the bug.
