How to mod:
1 Pick an interesting game: There are plenty of 8-bit/16-bit classics waiting for a remake
2 Rip your own sprites & stages
3 Use a custom palette: http://borrevolution.vg-network.com/tutorial.htm
4 Check your offsets: http://lavalit.com:8080/index.php?topic=1099.0

Did you know?
Using void main()
{
playgif("data/my.gif", 0, -4, 1);
}

as spawnscript streams a GIF anim instead of loading it

Just happened to have placed turtles in time into the cabinet.

Aside from TMNT, Simpsons and Turtles In Time I also have X-Men, Bucky O Hare and Vendetta.

Bucky O Hare! That game is one of my favourites  :)

It's another licensed Konami game. Very "loose" gameplay, even compared to most Konami titles.

Hi all,
just thought i'd share my mamecab with you all, had no previous experience, but had fun restoring an old tekken 3 cabinet i bought off ebay. rebuilt and wired up the control panel, installed my old pc with mamewah. even bought two barstools for that 80s chipshop feel. great for streetfighter winner stays on sessions when friends and family are around.

You took a part time job to pay for the cab?

Hmm... What could it have been?

Cleaning/checking sewers?
Working in a mine?
Testing (apparently faulty) night vision goggles?
Being a test subject in an experiment to find the impact of total sensory deprivation to the human psyche?

Tell us more!!!!

Yes , I'm joking. Congrats on the cab. It looks superb.  ;)

woop, took me a second to take in what you said  :laughing: thanks!

im proof of someone with no prior knowledge can build one of these with a little help from the internet, so lets see some more homemade arcades. i am planning to build another one for my best friend for his new home once he gets married.

trust me the effort is well worth it and does not cost as much as you would expect (i estimate i paid around ?300 altogether). my best advice would be buy an arcadevga graphics card and be careful messing around the back of an arcade monitor, i was told it stores a lethal charge even after it is unplugged. at most i touched the knobs to adjust the brightness, screen width and height etc. you have been warned!

if no room for arcade or cant afford one, i suggest softmodding an xbox with xbmc and an upgraded hard drive, there are many tutorial on the internet and on youtube. i have 3 networked around my house with all arcade classics inc Killer instinct and Dragons Lair, not to mention the excellent openbor and xmugen. it really is the best console and all in one entertainment system at an affordable price. ?25+ for xbox on ebay and ?30+ for 250gb IDE hard drive, a great project to try before the moving up to an arcade :)

woop! i just notice the guy with the tmnt arcade has the same bar stools as me, i remember shopping around back then for them, well expensive then found a pair at argos for about ?15-20 each, bargain!

A fellow U.K.er! Nice  ;D We're spread out quite thinly here. I can probably count the (active) U.K. users on my hand!

Never mind about my previous post. It's what passes for humour in my world.....
