Mini-Tutorial: "Align" Frames (Very Easy)
« on: April 14, 2009, 07:01:48 pm »
I found a nice software to do this! It is easy and works like a charm!!!
So why not share ?
  :)

So, lets start the tutorial (and sorry my poor english)!

==================================================

-First, download GIF Movie Gear 4.2;
http://www.gamani.com/download/MovieGear4.exe

-Now, just open your frames on GMG, like this ;
(I used "walk animation for the example)

-Then right click on the second frame to start, (the first frame is the model for the others) and go to "Move/Crop Frame..."

-Ok, now you set "Show First" and move the image to align with the transparent first frame.

Do this in all other frames!

-When all done, save the frames in idividual gifs!! (File/Save as...)

Done!  :)

PS:

-You can use GMG "PLAY" button to test your animations

-All offsets will be the same of the first frame!

-Will help if you has all frames in the same size! I use 150x150 for small and 200x200 for big ones!

I hope this can help you a little!  :)

okay, I usually try to keep my frames aligned when I'm framing them so It makes setting offsets easier. but I'll try this when I get more space in my PC.

Not sure I would use this method myself, but this is very useful.

If this thing can make GIF anims then I can use it at home, as far as aligning them go, I already do that manually. :)

What about grabbing the sprites from Mugen characters? In Mugen character making, sprites need to be adjusted to an appropriate alignment. Most sprites are cut around their body parts in Mugen. I don't know how to make good alignments.

I think that's partly what this is for maxman, it looks like it will let you adjust the canvas size also.
