MGF, the forum to avoid
« on: September 17, 2012, 11:27:13 am »
Hey, guys, just some friendly advice.

Are you into the Metal Gear series? If so, please avoid the Metal Gear Forever community. The admin of that place is so much a dictator, he's practically Hitler incarnate. There are plenty of other Metal Gear communities out there that are so much better and definitely more active. Naturally, MGF is a deadbeat because everybody left and/or avoided that place. Most of its userbase is gone, likely to better Metal Gear forums.

The problem with the admin is that he's a Hideo Kojima loving fanboy. If you don't agree with him, you're pretty much banned. Whatever Kojima or the Metal Gear team say or don't say, that's apparently fact to this guy. All his opinions are facts and if you try to question him, you're gone.

In ALL his reviews of video games, he compares them to and uses the Metal Gear series as a standard. BIAS MUCH? As expected, he rates all other games poorly for not meeting up to his pet series standards. Everytime someone brings up another game, he finds a way to bring the Metal Gear series into the subject.

Whatever Metal Gear games Kojima states are non-canon, this admin will ensure that nobody talks about those games. If they do, he'll get into a long lecture about how they suck and are the antichrist of society. If you try to give him suggestions about how to make the place more active, he'll laugh them off, calling them absurd because they don't follow his principles. Then a few weeks later, he'll cry about how inactive the forum is.

He goes around calling people who oppose him as geeks or nerds. Yet he's running a forum for a video gaming series that is tacking on so tightly to the series creator. He even has a component site where he makes analyses of the storylines. Talk about hypocrisy and insecurity. Calling other people childish, one time he overlayed the forum skin with a giant "**** this" spraypaint graphic that obscures most of the frontpage. Why? Because he's upset that his forum is so dead and sucks, while communities like TUS and Snake Soup were happily active.

Bottom line is to avoid the MGF boards like the plague. People have come and gone in as little as a few days recently down there. I was a member for 6 years over there and when I pointed out how flawed and nonsensical his logic was and how we don't need to cling onto every decision Konami makes about Metal Gear, it was too much for him and he threw me out. Just avoid that place like there's no tomorrow.

Never heard of this place, and it wouldn't matter either way. Lavalit is not a sounding board to run other forums into the ground.
