well hello there  im taskmaster a.k.a contress
this will be my main W.I.P  project
its a collab with maxman  :)
the game name  is  [Unelmia: Dreamers fate]  ;)
its a platforming game
ill post about the story concept later :-X
but about the game mechanic
you will control 3 characters and switch between them
to use their abilities as u progress in the game
the sprite and art style of the game will be  the chibi/ sd style :)

well as you said its  a starting stage  i might modify it and use it in the final mod :)
right now we need help in some stuff  but also we will insure that the openbor community
will get to try this mod and enjoy it
like we will enjoy making it :)

This is a small tech demo. It has just only one playable character, one stage, 5 lives and 1 credit, no enemies to fight with, no exiting the stage, and no attacks to command, but just jumping over from platform to another. It's nothing entertaining to play with, but it's just for testing. The main purpose for releasing this tech demo is getting feedback. Feedback is always welcome.

The engine build I'm using is 3357 on this mod.

EDIT: I apologize, you guys, for not posting the attachment up. I forgot to attach it after I posted.  And then I started to modify it for attaching it. After I attached it, I saved but then my connection went slow. So I couldn't post it ('cause I left to work). Just got home to attach the mod, so I can go back to work. Here it is.

 I have played the demo and it's good start for platformers game. I don't have any feedback ATM rather I'd like to ask what kind of enemies you are going to have?

thanx for downloading our small tech demo :)   about the enemies we will have all sorts of platformer enemies  flying ,walking even crawling loool
inshallah  ill try to put atleast one type of enemies in the next tech demo :)
i already have one in mind 
ill try my best to bring the classic platform games feel in this mod

tried the little demo, it looks very good, liked the cute char!!

however, the engine crashed everytime when, jumping and moving forward, I kept pressing the jump button (no error message on log file). This while using OpenBoR v3.0 Build 3469, it'sa bit outdated, should try again with latest build tough...

a small detail, on the attached pic, on the "rock" sprites, there's some ittle "holes" and even a small greeen pixel. It's not a important detail, but just wanted to let you know in case you missed it. also, there's an area where I marked with "??" where there's no rock area si it gives the impression that the character is in a floating area. I was wondering if that it's done in purpose or not.

as I said, are not big deal, but as I would like to see more on the project, just wanted to mention it

I wonder what kind of attacks or moves is JJ going to have.

hope to try another demo soon!!! keep working on this!!

thanx for trying the demo :)

as for the  demo issues
we accidentally combined a jump+forward into and attack button
when this button is pressed the character will jump forward automatically this cause the demo to crash on both pc and psp
so please go to the option screen  and change the controls :) 
and use only the jump button :P

and as for the stage   well i made it in a hurry  it might not make the cut in the full game  and those floating platforms  are on purpose  cuz there supposed to be water in this stage  but i still dont know how to apply it  :P

and as for jj attacks he is gonna be a melee char  close range type  :)  and there are 2 other characters  will join the adventure who play differently and help jj out

DUDE!! I tried that demo. i love the SD artwork, the animation is great and the character is just charming, I know it was just a tech demo, but the gameplay felt very natural, I'd love to see it in action with enemies and stuff. 4 Real, really cool stuff...

Add ability to move while jumping to make short/long jumps possible.I had similar small demo but with bomberman.

Thanks for the demo, bWWd. Just played it and I'm gonna take a practice on making a script on the jump. Also, I'll be doing the double jump too. The walk/run motion is what I was looking for to get.

Not only is taskmaster working on the game, but he helps putting his music to it and he gives me reference of characters for me to sprite on. I sprite a lot more in this project. I'm the one doing both spriting and coding. We give ideas out. So there hasn't been any enemies to sprite on until the enemy design is ready.

I post this just to let you know I will be posting enemy design competition topics. I will be discussing on two different types of enemies which are: ground and flying. As I was writing up on this post, I had a thought about making one topic first regarding the enemy competition for those types. I will explain about the topic(s) I will make and have some details of it for the participants. Sorry if I'm not clear in posting.

 Something crossed my mind, how exactly the character attack the enemy?

 Or before that, what is his purpose?
 Really, that will define gameplay which thus define level and enemies in this mod.

 Is he beating enemies just to get to end of each level? or he only need to get there without any need to kill enemies?

 There are games in which character can't kill enemies at all, that's why I asked.

 Now, if he can kill enemies, how exactly he does it? by stomping (Mario style), by shooting or by beating?

 The answer is very important cause the enemies and bosses will be based on that ability

well some enemies might block your way so u have to kill them

 1st option means killing enemies is necessity and he must get them all before he can advance to next level
 2nd option means he can skip enemies or kill them, as long he reached the end of level.

he dont need to kill enemies to finish he needs to reach the end  and as i said before

I would need help from those who have their PSP about the music volume. My partner, taskmaster, reported to me that the music volume is too low in the mod. I don't have a PSP though. I would want to know how to have a volume high or normal instead of being low. Is there a way to adjust a volume in PSP? It must be an Openbor issue not a music issue.

Is it only 1 music is too low or multiple? U can adjust the volume in sony vegas & render it again.

I got the answer about the enemy competition for winning. It's about the enemy that will fit the concept of this project. If you see an enemy sprite that you think will fit, you can vote. Otherwise, me and taskmaster will pick which monster will make it to the top 5 of each group.

This is gonna be way too early for me to announce a little about this competition. Here is the reference size for an enemy's height. You see the bottom blue line and the green and red lines there in the pic. From the bottom blue line up all the way to the green line is measured as 43 pixels high (in length) while measuring to red is 42 pixels. I don't know how much size but taskmaster says that the enemy should have the size of it. But I don't know. I feel like the enemies are kinda (too) smaller. Reference for example and also probably the monster would have the face of the skull like the ref here.

Here is the enemy format for any participant to submit their sprite to me or taskmaster in PM. You guys in this forum are the first ones to learn it from me.

Brief Description: Skorpee can attack with its blade and its tail. It can shoot lasers with its tail at the enemy when far away. Also, when the enemy is close to Skorpee, it can slash the enemy. It can whip with its tail in front or from behind.

Monster type: Scorpion
