Title: Guardian Heroes Warpath
Post by: BurnKing on March 20, 2010, 11:08:52 pm
Guardian Heroes Warpath By BurnKing

8 playable characters
Branching Paths
Multiple Endings
Rideable Creatures

Important!: when mapping buttons make sure you use attack2 because the 2 attack buttons become combos.

Giant thanks to pierwolf, nickyP and bloodbane, without whom this mod wouldn't exist.

this mod is in data form, i couldnt get it to work as a pak. and i figured people would want the sprites anyway.

this was uploaded today, itll be available as soon as a moderator notices.

i hope everyone enjoys, i put alot of work into this.

I really can't wait to play it! I had the original Guardian Heroes back in the Saturn days and it was definitely a Killer application for that (Awesome!) console. :cheers!:

I would take your word on that. Although I've missed out on it, I did play the GBA version on the Homebrew Channel for wii, and unlocked all the chars with cheats on the PC. Burnking himself said that didn't compare to the original, so with this mod, I'll at least have some idea on how good it was.

Naw, I meant I played the GBA version on the PC with an emulator, which was where I used cheats to unlocked everybody. I actually beat it while I was playing it on the HBC.

Too bad my Telecom is too slow to download. Before, it used to be fast, but now, it's getting too slow for me to download this mod. I'm trying to download it, but the signal is the problem. I'll try to find time to download.

I'm actually gonna wait 'til monday to download it while I'm at work. I could start now and still won't finish anytime soon, but with the internet at work it'll be done within 5 minutes. Patience is a virtue... ;)

 Same here? I'm not downloading now because of it's slowness. The KB of the transfer rate has reached to 12 at its least. I start downloading a pak from 200 some KBs till it reduces low to like around 20 or 1?... I think it all began from last Friday when I was trying to download any paks. It became like that.

Downloading link just can't work since it is going at 15/KB per 161 mb...

Could you create two Winrar volumes by 80 mb and then upload to mediafire until the problem is solved?
I guess i am asking too much...?  :nervous:

Yo BK, it took long, but thanks to nobody turning this PC off last night, warpath downloaded completely.  ;D I just put it on my spare SD card, and I'll try it when I get home. I'm also going to see if I can solve your txt problem, because I usually  play mods on the HBC now, because I barely have space to put them on my PC. I'll be back with the Feed.

could be that alot of people are downloading same time.

and phemt when the speeds go back up itll be fine, this is the smallest game i released so far, marvel was like 250 mbs.

It began on 120kb as well for me, but then go lower and lower. I started download two hours before this post, and it is still downloading... (12kb 46% downloaded)

We should just wait the fix, but i want to try this so badly!  :power_nap:

Yo BK, I just finished one of the stories for GHW, it ended with that robot from Gunstar Super Heroes. So far, this mod is fierce as hell, and so is undead. I tried to fix the fonts in a bunch of different ways and got nothing, I even replaced them with the ones from my cosmic damage mod, and it still didn't work when paked, even when they worked with cosmic damage. I think there's some kind of glitch in your data folder causing that. Anyway, I'll upload the fonts so some one who knows what the problem may be might be able to fix'em.
Other than that, You did a very tight job on this mod BK, I'll be playin' it some more later.

Title: Re: Guardian Heroes Warpath
Post by: BurnKing on March 21, 2010, 11:29:35 pm
its not the font, my font is pierwolfs font from knights of dragons, and it works for him. other people have had this glitch before there are other threads about it, no one has a solid soulution.

and im glad you liked it, try other paths, there are alot of things that dont get seen on one path, there are 5 rideable creatures try and find them all.

also every one has combos, yer basic xy xxy xxxy xxxxy and ocasionally xyy (ginjirou)
Title: Re: Guardian Heroes Warpath
Post by: Phemt on March 21, 2010, 11:57:36 pm
And also, everybody has two free specials:

up, up + attack1 and down, down + attack1.
Title: Re: Guardian Heroes Warpath
Post by: DJGameFreakTheIguana on March 22, 2010, 12:08:30 am
Yeah, I'll check those paths out, and I figured out those combos already. I know you may not think it compares to the original, but it would have been cool to see something from Advance Guardian Heroes, I mean I did beat the main story, and it was good, hard, but good. Then again, there's aren't many sprite rips from it, so it's something else I'll have to rip.

Title: Re: Guardian Heroes Warpath
Post by: Phemt on March 22, 2010, 09:00:26 am
Good:

Two attack buttons to create several combos.
Some never seen in a mod characters, stages, enemies, BGM, riding beasts.
Nice interactive story.

Bad:

Really sad to say there is not good spawn animations(and no invulnerability time during it and while getting up). You can see this flaw in most mods; when get knocked down and cornered you can only confide in the special to open a space and not get killed. Also, bigger enemies do not get knocked down when you lose a life and you can be hitted even while falling from above by them...
A block button would have been welcomed here, and could have solved some gameplay issues.

Collisions not working properly in my opinion, especially for players z axis (for which some enemies seem to work instead)

A nice and funny mod to play, with some few corrections could become a masterpiece!

Nice mod but the bosses are little annoying. How to beat them if they are immune to  attacks?

Strong point of this mod is fast action and proper lenghth of levels( not boring like in many other mods).
I need to ask BurnKing from which games are sprtites becouse some off them i see first time.

*Edit by DC* Watch your language please. Pointless profanity is not permitted here.

some bosses dont have pain anim because theyre bigger and i didnt want them being beaten all over the place, fight from a distance or attack and move. its meant so you cant just spam yer attack at everyone.

Lavalit's file is downloading 42 kb/s (using an internet connection that usually does 2-4 mb/s), and your megaupload link broke BK.

Weird, it works now. Anyways, downloading.

Hey BK, I learned something about the Font#1 Issue you've been having. I tried to pak my SBMM mod today to see how it plays on the wii, and I got the same error. I noticed the pak was a bit smaller than the the size of the data folder, so I unpacked it, and saw that the packer didn't pak up everything, it stopped somewhere in the chars folder. I'm going to try it again with the improved packer exe to see what happens, if it works, I'll pak your warpath mod to.  ;)

To answer you and Nicky, it wan't the mod that was the issue, like I said before, the old paker batch file wasn't paking the whole mod, when I unpaked once, it stopped in the chars folder. So I got the improved Paker files by Plombo, and used that, thanks to naota's help:

I've found some glitches - the first one is with "Friendly fire". Even if you disable it in options, one player can still hit another one with special projectile atack for example.
The second one - in the first level one of the orcs walked on air, when you are going up the cliff. Because player can't walk free on air - it was impossible to kill that guy, and i had to restart the whole level.

Other than that - great game, very fun to play )

Yes!!!  Man I've been postponing the proposal to my girlfriend pending the release of this Guardia Heroes mod and now the moment is at hand.

Congrats on the release of Guardian Heroes!

I've played through a couple of levels and the stages are really nicely done as well as the storyline/cutscenes  I like the branching feature already too.

The animal riding level is pretty swift as well.  The enemies are real shifty in that type of battlefield.

The blood hitflashes can get in the way at times but it makes each slash look like a real carving slice.

This mod looks real beefy though, I can't wait to play though all of it!

It was great to see all the Guardian Heroes characters and enemies.  Thanks bra :peace:

Don't worry about it anymore, I waited too long and she left me... there are plenty of fish in the sea.  With my free time I was able to play through this great mod, it was worth the wait!

I had real fun with all the animal mounts and the riding levels.  And there is a great variety of enemies to slash up.

The bosses fight pretty fiercely so its a challenge to beat them.  The final boss on the hell path was very well done too.  I wont give away details, I don't want to spoil things for peeps who haven't played to that point.

Also all of the stages were very nicely done and made very cool figting settings.  A lot of stages and enemies in your mod are rather obscure but make good opponents and you do a good job of making the enemies progressively more difficult throughout the game...  Dang, and I've still got to check out the other branches.

I respect the work you put into Guardian Heroes Warpath.  Thanks man, now I've got to find some other breezie to get with so we can get some 2 players going. :peace:

Oh man sorry to hear that bro, that couldn't have been pleasant, glad to hear your keeping well after something like that. I too have lost in love and it hurts pretty bad but time heals all wounds, eventually.

Man I should've dl this mod but I ran out of cap and dl a crappy fighting game instead, doh! Next month this and hopefully Rocket Viper will be mine.

Oh, @#$%. Ouch. I'm really sorry to hear that, man... But think of it this way; if she couldn't wait even a little more, then she obviously wasn't worth it!

Anyways. I'm almost done beating this game... once finals are over next Thursday, I'll have time to beat at least one of the story branches.

Hello there,

is this mod works for pc? i downloaded the "Guardian Heroes Warpath (PSP version)(pak version)" << is -PSP version- means "also" worked on PSP (besides PC) or just "only" worked on PSP.

anyway, after i tried, the logo and the loading page did open, but for half hour or more the game still not starting, or maybe i should get the DATA version of this mod then packing it in .pak myself ?

thanks BurnKing

PS: u wrote "this mod is in data form, i couldnt get it to work as a pak." << what does it mean? so sorry if i were asking too much  :cheers!:

tarmac, if you want to run it on pc download the data version, the psp version wasnt made by me, someone else who has a psp made that one, and he posted somewhere the specific psp version it works on. hope that was helpful.

and thanks stevie, i worked real hard on this one.

that boss is awesome, and hes meant to be all attack because hes weak in defense and can be juggled, get yer game up.

i mean for my games to be a lil difficult, cakewalk games are boring.

good to see yer back btw.
