Do you plan to release an updated version in the future to fix, for example, the mounting bug?

As for the fish stage, maybe a pure 2D version is practicable, but that' s all up to your choice.  :laughing:

crashed... I was on the rainy stage (with the lizardmen) after i got back from the warp to the mini-stage with the cocodrile, it crashed while beating some little dragons with Gillius, I think I did jump attack.

the log don't say anythiong and when I wanted to load game, it says no save fie found...

Ok, this is not a problem, but if the game was longer would be better, hehe.
But please, fix the save problem, bacause unlock chronos and classic adder and then lose the progress is a pain in the ***.

there are enemies in the game (like enemy Chronos or Titan) that are able to summon magics in dependence to which opponent they are facing ;) : if you where using Adder the boss summoned one of Adders magics

Your game is off the hook, i try it out and it was awesome, especially the graphics they're so nice, the music is okay, and the controls are easy to use. I give this mod of yours props for making this classic arcade hit a tribute, good work oscar.  :cheers!:

Hey, I tried to start this mod on the wii last night and it crashed. After crashing on my PC, I check the log and it said font#1 is missing.  :( Sounds like you used the old borpak.exe to pak this mod, s you may need the newer version, which I'm pretty sure is included in the snapshots. I DL'ed this from the lavalit link, so if you have a different version of it elsewhere the works, let a brother know, or you need to pak it again.

Is that why it said .spk instead of .pak? Well that answers that question, but how did everyone else play it and not me? Unless it's because I didn't use the OpenBOR version included with the mod of course....

Haha, yeah, that happened in the fish stage too. Fortunately I didn't lose all the credits.

BTW, I need a little strategy suggestion against the final boss's second form using Ax Battler. It seems trading hits with him doesn't work as nicely as Gilius the Dwarf.And I have problems dodging his stomp attack.

Same here. Lowering the clock speed seemed to help a little but...only a little. Weird because it runs so smoothly, even loads up real fast, until the game actually starts.

Well I had some problems with my Internet so it took me a while to download it. But it was def worth the wait. The presentation is really, really impressive. I love the awesome sprites, music, gameplay etc fantastic!?

So many details, secrets and fun.

It feels like GA 2 arcade style and it is still pretty cool even tho I prefer GA1 style. It's the best GA fan game I ever played and I think it is a worthy addition to the real series.

It does have just a few flaws tho, I understand that you are probably not going to update and I can live with that. Just a few glitches here and there

Flaws. The <- ->+a1 move just doesn't feel responsive enough I'd much rather prefer a1 + jump. Why does Gilus get a extra move but nobody else does?

The Tyris head is not a good fit, it looks kinda goofy, the enemy women are much better looking. She has a really big unibrow and it is very unsettling.

Oh I wish the fatalities would happen in normal combat instead of only with magic? I don't use magic that much and they're so cool it's a pity to only see them here and there.

I unlocked the secret charas but I can't play them in a new game. :( Only unlocked Classic when I beat the game but then it crashed.

I would have like to have seen a hard mode. The skeletons don't seem aggressive enough.

The bad brother charas seem slightly unfair they have a 3d throw, they can throw you while you are comboing them?

Is the magic system like GA1 or Genesis GA, I'd prefer Genesis GA sometimes when I want a breather I use 1 magic but if I have a boss I'll stock up. It's really sad to use a cool special on 2 thugs because you want to save a life.

What does money do? Is it important?

Are there lots of secrets I found cronos, really cool but anything else like that?

Is there a penalty for killing NPC?

Anyway thanks very much for the game GA Myth team, it's really fantastic a must download. I give it 9/10 I love it. Even tho it has a few flaws it still pretty darn good, it really is a pity you won't release a directors cut or something like that maybe a year down the line or something? Each chara has extra moves: someone has <- ->+a1, somone has up, down+a1. I have no problem using that combination of buttons and use those moves A LOT (and i will explain you why later ;)) without problem. It must be a problem of your controller, not of the game. This is specified in the "How To Play".

Secret charas are NOT UNLOCKED but they JOIN THE PARTY at a certain level: they are not intended to be there when you start the game again.

Right. The game in first instance was designed to allow the selection of the magic level. The Rage condition was authomatic and started instantly after  getting a rage potion or instantly fter fulfilling the rage bar. I had a feedback from Anallyst (he was fixing a problem on the engine that was affecting GAMyth then i decided to give him a copy of the game... and he fixed it almost instantly... thanx man!) who noticed that triggering the rage at will would be better... he was right! Triggering it at will gave a higher tactical approach and higher importance to one of the original features we had introduced in the game. In my opinion, at that point, controlling the level of magics was intricating the gameplay too much (the game wants to be "casual" and "old style" as much as possible... forget we are all Call of Duty champions ;))

Well, enemies have different attacks in dependence to the level they are so you can see some different attack, cards shows random arts from Oscar and Rosita, if you finish the game there's an hidden level... want more? (maybe i forget something)

Yes if you did not get the potion before killing them you will not collect that potion :)

Thank you and all the people having fun with this with the consciousness that this is a fan game and that the finality was that all the members should have have fun during the development (you do not work on it for more than 3 years if your goal is to produce a game for something like your glory or ego or whatever ;)...)

I hope that people understand that it is impossible to satisfy everione (we recorded more or less 20000 downloads up to now...) and that it's sometimes annoying to see that some aspect that indeed DO WORK is overhelmed by some, inevitable, flaw.

btw, just wanna say it was an awesome game from the little I played on my laptop. Playing on my PSP would just be sweeter cuz it may be the only way I'll ever play it entirely. As a standalone game, though, pretty amazing.

 Having a bunch of scripts the game is relatively heavy to run also on some PC so it reasonably runs in NO handleds

Well she is the only sprite that looks a little off to me, but everyone else looks so awesome, I really love the sprites some are really big and detailed so well, also they have a lot of frames too, something that is amiss in some mods that use unique sprites, really well done. * I still wish for a Tyris pallet swap option someday but I can also live without it, at least her body looks great lol. *

I would say the story mode is fair, everytime I play the game I get a little better or learn the enemies strategies, would like just a little more difficulty in some parts but it is still very fun to play.I doubt they've tired to beat duel mode yet? That seems like more than a challenge? Only got to round 8 I think so far.

Awh it crashed when I beat it so I'm a bit worried about that happening again but I'll def give it more than a few chances. Cool it does seem like there are many secrets, I have found quite a few, can't wait to find more.

I also noticed you guys gave a lot props to lavalit and senile which is really nice to see, this mod should hopefully get more people interested in obor! :)

For what concerns crashes, please if someone experience a crash save the log files on the "logs" folder and try to be as much detailed as possible: the game will not be updated or fixed, but maybe some indication will be usefull for the engine itself (i have the sensation that crashes are mainly due to PC limits, but i am curios to give them a look)

Ok, I was finally able to start the game last night, turns out my problem was that I wasn't using the included version of OpenBOR. Anyway, I tried to play it, but it ran very slowly, to the point it was basically lagging. I don't know what it is, but my PC isn't handling openbor(or anything for that matter) like it use to, even my mods are running slower. I'll have to try to catch my PC at a time when it's running a little faster to play this.

Played this mod very good but I hate the art style look too much like mugen witch is horrible the game it self is good but very easy got through it in 1 life using tyrius flare there is a little problem with the collision detection as well in this game. Hey  djgamefreak i suggest you run a registry error software to clean up the registry defrag and run and run a virus checker and delete temporay uneeded temporay folders and file witch can help speed up the computer.

The PAK is not what makes it incompatible with old versions of the engine; any engine version can read any PAK file.  The problem is that the mod uses features that are incompatible with OpenBOR 2.0.

Great game but is very unstable. I tried three times to beat it and I suffered three crashes (one in first stage, two in second stage). The game just randomly crashes without any error notification. EDIT: I just tried the fourth playthrough using openGL this time but it also crashed (when entering the second portal in the village) so this game sadly is unplayable (for me at least) :(

EDIT 2: I just noticed that all my crashes were during the loading screen (while going in/out of portal or at the beginning of new stage) so maybe it helps.

Finally got to play this today and I have to say this is a beautiful piece of work. Congratulations to all of you who worked on it.

Anyways, sadly enough my gaming experience did not get me past The Village boss.  :( ...and this is what happened.

- Was playing with Ax all the way up until I unlocked Cronos.
- Switched to Cronos and got to this part...which btw, how can you ride one of those???

- Got to the boss at the end of the level, got killed for the first time and switched to Gillius...which is way fast and has awesome Blocking!!!
- Beat the boss with Gillius and...CRASH.

I would suspect that is a random crash, maybe a once off?

TIPSto beating the game:
What is known is at this point is to not go into certain portals as they crash the game on certain pcs maybe? I know I can't play the last hidden stage is crashes when I beat the game.

The portal where you fight a few of the bosses again on the last or 2nd last stage is bugged for me everytime and one other I can't remember it offhand though.

You can avoid the difficult jumping stage by not selecting it.

Hmmm, all these crashes are dogmatic to me: the game have been tested on 2 PC's (well, not really a statistically significative number, i know) and no "serial" crashes have been experienced (or i would fix them before the release)...

With the exception of known problems on some stages (i.e. the fishes stage where going in the wather can cost lots of credits... but you can doublejump, you know!?), it looks like there are no crashes more frequent in one stage or another, so it's difficult to see how to fix them, from the mod side but also from the engine side  :nervous:  :)

I had a similar report today...I wonder if this is an engine bug.  If it is, I have to wonder why it suddenly started, since the relevant code in the engine hasn't been changed for a while.

Nope using the engine that came with the mod. Just a few pesky portals and I'm also not able to load the final hidden stage.

Just tested the game on my AspireOne NetBook using latest OpenBOR for Windows (I run XP). Have not played that far -completed the first level. The games works with no problems at all. Great sequel well done to the authors.

If ever The Golden Axe series had a prequel, then this would be it !

I love everything there is about this game, from the cutscenes, to the sprites, to the stages, the selectable characters you can play with, and the animals and things you can ride, plus the magic spells as well.

This is an excellent and very well made mod, and I wouldn't even call it a remake... I would call it a new beginning to a great game !

I love what you have done with it baritonomarchetto77, and how you and your team hand drew all the sprites yourselves too.

Excellent, and I hope to see more projects for OpenBor from you sometime soon again.

I have some questions. In the system options screen there's a cheat mode and debug mode and I was wondering how these work and what the codes are. I understand you can't save your progress/data but there's a load game option so thats why its confusing.

No, untill the engine is ported on mac (and the specific dev compiled being GAMyth not compatible with newer engine versions)

Hello everybody, I'm from Brazil, please don't mind if my english is not perfect.

I don't know nothing about OpenBOR, =P

But the game crashes on the second stage, in the second portal, aaand the second route of this same stage I think the name of the path is Hopeway or something like that... It also Crashed once after I defeated Chronus, what's funny is that I coulde enter on the second portal of the second stage, but it worked only once, after that it always crashes.

How can I save an error log file? Because in the Logs folder it just have OpenBORlog.txt and Scriptlog.txt

And I use the OpenBOR wich comes on the .7z

I'm using the animated opening movie to test the new gif player.

The new build supports a standalone palette for each image other than the only global one.

It doesn't look as great as a true color movie (which requires 3 gif files intead of one), but the file size is much smaller (18mb versus 70mb). ;)

I hope you don't mind the watermark from the video hosting site I'm using, after all it is just a sample.

@ Apocalipse2099 and all the users experiencing crashes: after the crash and before running openbor again logs files in the logs folder should be saved and sent to me. I don't plan to work on GAMyth in the near future, but it would be interesting to figure out what causes all those crashes (i had not, and also Oscar had not, while developping the game... maybe a PC spec problem?)

They are different.  :laughing:

This one is in lower quality since each frame has only 256 color, but it is much more better than the old single palette gif.

Yeah, the ture color one is too hard to make and the file size is awefully big. I still keep that feature though I doubt it will be actually used.


This one shouldn't be that hard, I think many good gif convertor has an option to use global palette or local palette.

I didn't play past the first stage because I was only seeing if I could record videos at a good frame rate, so I figured I'll try this out. From what little I played, it looks great, and I can tell this had a lot of detail put into it. I'll be back when I play it some more.

Great Game,

unfortunately I cannot get it to work properly. The OpenBor version given with the spk file crashes on my pc between stages, when I end a stage it crashes sometimes, I try it with the last openBor version and it works perfectly except that the rage doesn't work. The rage gauge is ok when the axe lights up the action button doesn't make the rage to work.

It seems that I am the only one having this problem so I don't expect for an answer, take it as a feedback.

Though I've got theese problems my opinion about this game is 10/10. I really love it.

This game is completely original and falls under the standards of the lavalit license and was requested by the auther's to be encrypted. Beside, I don't think this will run on xbox cause this game uses more than 64mb of ram.

This mod use some many RAM :(

But for my part, i think it he can release one day a PAK not crypt, some fans can adapt it to other supports ...

I can assure you that i made everithing was in my possibility to reduce the RAM consumption during the development phase (i wanted it to play on my PSP too), but it was not possible without giveing up on some distinguishimg feature. In the end, the only platform that could stand all the features that came in our minds during the development stage was the PC ...

Removing scripts or any other element from Golden Axe Myth would modify the game, then, in the end, would result in a "perversion" on the game itself. Being the product of a Team and not of a single person, modify it would be a long process to make everyone in the Team happy.

So please enjoy the game on the platform it runs the way it is intended to and have fun  ;)

My sincerest apologies for both my english and parrot-syndrome, but I REALLY wish I could play GAMyth as Classic Death Adder from the very beginning!!! I enjoyed this game! It's the very best remake/prequel I've ever played, and it felt pretty much like the arcade game and the first GA, but every time I go through the whole story mode and get this awesome powerhouse, my game ends up crashing and I can't play as him any longer, which is a pity, seeing as how this mod gets me dizzy...so I need either advice to mod it so it may save my progress and unlocked characters, or a modified version including autosave or something like this...

PLEASE O GREAT BARITONOMARCHETTO77, MAY THOU HEED THE CALL OF A LOST SOUL!!!(and perhaps many others... :) )

I dont know if your all aware or even care but you can upgrade the xbox 1 memory to 128mb if you have a broken xbox around.
take the memory off it and put it on in the empty memory spaces on the working box. I did this and my box runs smoother and the MAME emulator plays the Midway games, like Cruising the world, and the Mortal Kombat series with out the choppy slowdown.
Any how I would like to get this working on my 360. is their an updated version that plays SPK files for the 360.
