i've tested again your game and it's actually my favorite mod.I see your great work on max(best wrestling fighter,i've seen on openbor) and axel(it's so nervous gameplay).Perphaps,it's good to add more blood like previous release(before axel's headbutt give blood animation).please,for next release,can you add ababdee and robot axel(i'm sure you will do masterpiece with these chars).very,very good mod! ;)

Not only does it have an SOR-type feel, but he's expanded on it, and added a new dimension to it.  This is seriously an awesome mod.  I think it may be my favorite OpenBOR mod thus far, and I say that as a fan of the SOR series.

If I were you, I'd give it a try and see if it's what you want.

The blood fx on ground will make the graphic a little bit dirty IMO.
Abadede and Robot Axel already in this version(in different branches).

Great game the best sor themed bor i've ever player i find myself playing this and sor 2 alot. this has the best mechanic out of all bor games. really great job. with that being said i did have some issues with that game that id like to address
1.  max is slower that sor 2 slow and that sabbing motion leaves you open for a good 3 to 4 seconds it does'nt takes that long to jab with a knife.

2. hit detection on rocket and all other boss that are like jet. sometime he'd be on the same axes as your character but too high to hit so when he rockets threw there's no way to stop him so you have to take a hit also sometime he'd be on a different axes almost parallel and sill rockets me and even sometimes my jump attacks don't even hit him

3. characters backpeddling off screen mostly the girls with the whips and the gourmand and still being able to hit u. in fact u can chase them off screen and still take a hit. same problems above were jet will go off screen after being chased then zoom right in resulting in taking a hit with a large chunk gone

I like to have seen a few platform type stages, although I haven't seen all the stages yet, got to go through all the branches still.

1]Maybe a tag option like MSH VS SF?

2]Exploding barrels?

3]A stun bar for enemies.

4]A grenade weapon.

5]The ability to throw weapons? Like pick up the baseball bat and throw it at enemies.

6]Stage Select.

7]A counter character with different reversals.

8]Haggar, running grapple, can pick people up and walk around with them.

9]A druken master type chara.

10]More weapons, and weapon specials, weapon running attacks.

11]A brute chara with lots of Autoguard like Maxima from KOF2002

12]A galatica phantom move! Like the one Ralf does in Crime buster or KOF2002. The longer you charge it the more lethal it is.

13]Can hit enemies while they're on the floor.

14]Air grapples.

15]When busy being grappled can do a reversal knockdown with special if quick enough. Crime Busters final.

16]Rise attack is just up and a.

17]Gore and fatalities.

18]Survival mode, with waves of charas, slowly gets more and more difficult, starts with 4 charas you beat them and then 8 come out and so on and so on.

19]Long air Juggles. Like MSH VS SF.

20]Okay I was wrong about Max his jump grapples are awesome. Altho I wish he would have a revenge spinning pile driver though, ah still good without it.

21]A stage where you have to jump from car to car or truck to truck like in Bad Dudes Vs Dragon Ninja.

22]When you throw some one in the water you see them drown.

Ah lmao you shouldn't have asked, lol. And I def don't think you should have to add all of that, maybe just some of it in BKV2, maybe just the things you like. Also a lot of it seems like it would be hard to balance so I leave it at your discretion, you would probably know best.

BKV is great without those things anyway, just a few thoughts I had, maybe I got a little too worked up, really, really hope to see a BKV2 in the future, hopefully... even if it only a little better I'll still play it.

Wow,What a long list!I think I must spend much time on this if I start BKV2.lol
About the air grapple I already made it in the current version.Just Jump near an enemy and press down+attack.
Many of your suggestions are pretty good.
I'll consider that.

Actually this game doesn't have many moves(but may more than official ones).
And the air grapplings can only performed by certain chars(blaze,shiva and yuki).

I really gave this a good play for the first time last night. It is a very solid effort. I do have some constructive criticisms though.

1. Graphics/Animation: There is way too much color loss and the sprites are in poor condition. I see a lot of pixelation, and quite a few rough edges. This really could have used 16 bit mode and more focus on preservation of the sprites instead of editing them.

There are also several places where you need to add landframe and dropframe adjustments, along with jumpdelay/jumpland animations (or tweak them if you already have). Ones I remember specifically are Blaze's normal Jump and Shiva's final crash. Both lift off about 3 frames too soon.

2. Grappling: The throws are OK, but not great. Don't get me wrong, it's a nice start and better then 90% of the mods out there, but I'm comparing them to what they should be, not the crap you find in a BOR clone mod.

The biggest issue is they need more transition frames. For example, most of the slams where an enemy is dropped head first instantly place them in a flat fall afterward. You need some transition frames for those types of slams, like in this example:

Then there are throws like Axel's body slam (Forward + Attack), where he goes instantly from grab pose to holding the enemy overhead with no in between frames. I haven't looked at your throw system, but I assume it can accommodate some extra frames to fix these.

Lastly, distance throws are still the same old BOR Clone stuff. The attacker does a throw animation, but the defender just gets slung backward facing the wrong direction. This looks horrible enough in any other mod, but it really sticks out in one like yours where all the other throws are are scripted. SOR animated the defender being flipped overhead, and yours should too. See this example (the throw):

3. Controls: The controls don't make a lot of sense. To start with, why have one button just for hyper mode? The hyper mode by itself is odd enough in a SOR mod, but if you want to have it, map it to some other control combo and get rid of the superfluous action key. Maybe Jump + Special. When it comes to action keys, less is always more.

The next control issue goes back to throws. Why does only one character (Lucia) have the switch sides mechanic, while every other character relies on awkward looking automatic vault and slam sequences? You went through all the trouble to script a side switching system for grabs, and then only used it for a character that shouldn't even be in the module.

4. Characters: What are the two crossover characters? Since the module itself doesn't bother to tell why they are there, it's extremely jarring. I can see Lucia fitting maybe, but that other character (who is so bad I can't even remember her name) has no business what so ever in a Streets of rage module. The design reeks of stereotypical anime trash, is a garbled mess of colors, plays horribly and just needs to go away. All the effort you spent adding those two should have gone to perfecting the characters that belong, or adding a character that makes sense (like Skate or Adam). This is doubly true for Lucia, who again got a side switching grab ability that all the other characters should have been given instead.

5. Story/Bosses: You need some cut scenes of some sort. You don't have to make a movie, but at least tell us what is going on. Why are we fighting? What is going on from stage to stage, that sort of thing. The bosses need some pizazz too. Boss fights in SOR2 were perfect. They were challenging opponents. If you sucked, they'd beat you down, but if you were good enough you could tear them apart. In this mod, like many others, boss fights are for the most part just wars of attrition where skill makes no difference. Look to Crime Busters for an example of some interesting boss AI.



I hope you understand, I'm not trying to run the module down. I like it overall and wouldn't even waste time commenting otherwise. You obviously know what you are doing. I think that if you re focused some effort away from adding unneeded extras and toward polishing the core content, you will have a SOR masterpiece on your hands. All of your advice makes good sense.

Don't worry man.I know you seldom make comments of Mods.
I understand and appreciate all of your criticisms.
This Mod could be a better one.

Maybe I didn't mod for a long time.And that's my fault.
At the beginning I didn't think about to make it a masterpiece so there're so many casuals stuffs.
Too much is not Modding in a strict,serious way.
Having directly borrowed sprites from other Mods even made the subsequent sprites changing harder(I have to adjust the palletes and work on remaps as well,that's tons of work.)I also realized the direction issue,it's hard to add one more fall animation for each enemy ..lol.
About the grappling,all the grappling skills are scripted ones.

From this mod on,I think I have taken Modding seriously.You can notice I removed all the characters in different graphic styles in my recent Mod and have worked for so much details.
And your advice will be a great help to my current Mod.

Well even with it's few flaws, which I hardly noticed I still think this is one of the best Obor mods, maybe not 100% perfect but still pretty darn great imho. It's just so fun to play.

The only think I think needed work were the crossover charas, maybe they needed a few more moves to keep them as interesting as Blaze and Axel, Shiva could have also used a few more moves.

I think it's time to make an update to this Mod.
Mainly fix throw problems and finish the stories.
And I took out Yuki for her graphic style.
Kurokishi from Guardians2 has taken her place.

But I'm a little bit worried about the graphic too.

In my opinion kurokishi looks great, she also appears in nightslashers x, I don?t know about graphics and spritting but I don?t see the graphic problem on her, I would like that you add more enemies, the enemies here are allright but are so repetitive, you can add enemies from other SOR games, it?s just a suggestion anyway you can do the better for your update.

She is still out of place, just like Lucia and the girl she replaced. Skate and Adam would make much better additions. If it's a Streets of Rage module you should concentrate your efforts on Streets of Rage material first... then add the extras. Even then, making playable versions of existing characters would fit better. Several of the bosses in the series (Abadade and R. Bear for instance) have move sets quite similar to the player characters and could be added without too much effort.

Also, this would be a good time to convert Shiva's game play to SOR2 style instead of 3; he was much more complete in that game. Note his chain combo in that game started with the reaching hook, not the palm thrust. It flowed much better that way and would allow superior collision consistency.

According with DC, I think he is right about adam and skate, you should add them first instead of add extras, this MOD would be great if this had more SOR feeling talking about chars and enemies.

Robot Axel is kinda the same with Axel.I think he's better to be an enemy.

Awesome progress. Looks like it's going to be really fun to play the new charas.

Don't forget the stuff I posted before earlier in this thread. Some platforming stages like Double Dragon 2 NES could be really cool, kicking a guy off a building never gets old.

Nice work volcanic. It's good to see adam finally make it in, but I also see you added the busty chick from Denjin Makai 2(I think that's what it was called). I Also see that you said this was suppose to be a new game. It's misleading since you have "bare knuckle" in the title. Anyway, if your thinking of adding any new characters, might I suggest Dean from Final Fight 3? He's by far the best oldschool FF character to me,and you hardly see him in the mods unless he's unlockable. But, you know, that's all up to you. I'm actually cool with crossovers as long as the best char's aren't missed in it.

That's is why now i have 2 hard drive, 1 of 500GB the system or OS and the other of 1TB with Movies,Games,Music,Data,etc...
Is more probably that the hard drive with the system will be the first to get screw.
But of course also depends on the quality of the hard drive.

I'm sure there's no way to recover .The magnetic head is broken and perhaps also the hard disk platter.Unless you open the hard drive and renew the magnetic head(That's a lot of money to do this).

 @Goresickness: Pierwolf uses pseudo slam in Final Fight Gold. This technique although it's quick to set, is not efficient especially if you have many enemies to be slammed. Worse even, it's not stable! other player could interrupt the grab/throw causing it to break.
 The technique me, Damon Caskey and Orochi_X use is stable and is efficient with many enemies. You need to use scripts but don't worry about it since you could use our scripts :).

Now I still can't figure it out.It only up your attack power a little and when you reach a specific level you can use advanced moves.

I think this game is already my fav mod, but with the new editions it'll be even better!? Can't wait to play Super Max!?

I really don't like the level up system, I'd rather you unlock a s version of the chara when you reach a certain point in the game, as I like to change characters every few stages to keep the variety going, unless maybe you can make a tag mode?

ohh I noted that when Slash do an attack, his hair changes colour.

Currently I'm totally plunging myself into RocketViper2 version2.1.
I'm afraid I don't have much time updating this Mod.
As I said before, I had handed over this Mod to Anking.

I've released a Demo version of BKV4.0 which was buggy.
The complete version is under process.
And the process is decent.
Hopefully I'll release it in a few months.

I have test the 4.1 last version, i love it :D

But now, with the last xBox version A600 release and that correct crash bug ... i have an other one lol

Like you can see on screens i post, the TITLE palette some time is bad ... i don't understand why ?
