PS: How to run the game;

1- download the program 'NTLEA_086_BETA' and extract it anywhere else in your pc. its a very useful program just like M$ AppLocale(and AppLocale doesn't work in this game)

2- open 'ntlea.exe' and mark the option 'Add to shortcut menu'

3- go to the folder 'ヴァンガードプリンセス' where the game is and right click on it and click on 'Execute by NTLEA R'

OR

For working with AppLocale(without regional settings change) you needs:
1. Path to game must contain only Latin chars.
2. Rename folder ヴァンガードプリンセス to anything else ("vanpri" for example)
3. Rename ヴァンガードプリンセス.exe to vanpri.exe
4. Rename ヴァンガードプリンセス.kgt to vanpri.kgt
5. Use AppLocale, now it works

Want to rip the sprites ?

-Just get this software and rename a (japanese).player name to a (latin).player name, and Drag'n'Drop to 2dk2nd_sprite_ripper.exe

I just saw it. this CPU is right in the direct sight of a door, and those screenshots aren't something I want my fam seeing as they walk by, they'd get suspicious. :eek:

I was just comming here to ask how the hell do you get this to work, but I just saw the post on how to do it so I'm good. ;D

On second thought I just ripped the whole game including sounds & it only took me 15 minutes. Now my problem is- where do I upload all this?? Still want this stuff Nick?

I had to chuck the remaps because the program I used made a duplicate copy of the character for each remap which meant the size was around a gig. Really the longest part was labeling the folders the characters & stuff were in (it was in Japanese you know) & of course uploading the files.

I played with that chick with the patch over her eye and played through without loosing a match. I really like the Help system tho, you've got those little NPCs behind you helping out when you push the right button commands, like chang & choi on KOF.

The tool was designed for Fighter Maker 2nd games. Mame sprites would look different anyway since their not stored 'all-put-together', & said tool (if someone made one) would have to be able to discern between the different roms like the Mame emulator does in order to work correctly.

The only thing I need now is time. Aside from taking care of life obligations, I'm also VERY close to releasing my first completed mod. And honestly, that kinda has priority on my BOR to-do list.

Also, the purple 'vagina' is apparently a sticker. Luna's supposed to be poor, and apparently panties are a rich girl luxury. Slightly odd, but I've seen stranger backstories. I think.

edit: and I may just have to join the 'must make mod out of this' group. After my current project. Maybe. I've been getting way too many ideas for mods lately. Trying to stay focused on one project is getting increasingly difficult.

I hear you, I'm working on two mods at the moment, and I've started gathering resources for a third. It's hard to mod when you're too ADD to settle on a single project, but I can't help it man!

Hah, luckily I don't seem to have the ADD problem. I'm pretty well set on working on just one project at a time, but I do have one on hold while I work on my current project. I just get so bored at work I can't help but come up with ideas/stories I want to add to mods. Hell, I've already got ideas for a mod based around this game. At least it helps the day go by faster I guess. ;D

When I first started, I was determined to stay focused on one project. But unfortunately, both projects are so appealing to me I'm juggling both at the moment. Once I get farther in development I'll probably focus one just one (I've already got in mind which one that will likely be). And, while this might just be my competitiveness coming out, I'd love to show off some of my more original ideas before another modder comes up with the same idea and puts in it their own project. :laughing:

Post by: vies on September 03, 2009, 12:45:24 pm: Heh, I may actually end up doing a little juggling act of my own now that I've looked at some of the VP sprites and gotten more ideas. I'd just need to find some more stage sets that the sprites would fit well on(only 7 different stages in the game doesn't give one too much to work with). Of course, the guy that wrote the ripping program HAD to set it up so the sprites end up on a black background. Hopefully it'll only be an issue with Luna, but Yui might be an issue too with her leggings.

Anyway, it's not so much demanding as tedious. At least, now that I have the base design down. The gloves can be a bit tricky(Mina wears that big archer's gauntlet on one arm, meaning I have to trim it down in most frames so she doesn't end up with one oversized arm), but that aside it's not too bad.

Oh yeah, and the stage rips seem to be corrupted FW. I did rip them myself last night, but forgot to see about uploading them somewhere. I can do that later this evening if you want(or just don't feel like doing it again yourself haha).
