I already have a collab mod myself and I never officially announce it. It's just private collab. I think I have other collabs.

 Anyways, if you want to make collab mod, why don't you start by making a mod without heroes and only enemies? Yes, it sounds odd but you can start new thread with title : Heroes wanted! asking other modder to put hero(es) in the mod.

Hello Gromber. Welcome to Lavalit. First of all, we have so many people who are working on their own mods. Also, some people focus and work on one project of his/her own. Some work on 2 or more projects. Plus, there is no need to demand or ask anyone to work on a project for you unless you find someone who can help you. You can create a team for your project if you like, even though you don't have skills to code. You can help collaborate the project. If you want to give what you want your character to look like to your partner, just show him/her the reference of what you expect it to be like. (But it doesn't have to be exactly what you want it if you show it.) Yes, I have a couple of my OWN projects, BUT the other is a collab mod I work on. So now I have a total of 3 projects, but I'm leaving one of my own for working on it later.

I have a partner and he doesn't code, only a little does he know. But he helps out sending me music files, changing edits for good looks, providing sound files and stages, etc. Also, I do both spriting (only on characters) and coding. We are helping each other and working on a collab mod called Unelmia. It's a Platformer game.

Last but not least, you can't expect somebody to make a mod of what you want and please don't rely on people working on it like you're treating them as your slave. It's better if you give good instructions and/or plans to someone what you like to see.

IMO real reason no 1 to ask about collab is laziness to do sprite work or coding work.
This thing rarely works, needs 2 people to think alike, i very often dont like colaborating with someone else if i see that his quality of work is lower than mine or im simply not inspired and dont want any commitment.
People who start should first make a plan what they want to include, dont start from the middle by throwin in characters from other games.First make a plan like all devs do when theyre making a game.Otherwise youre throwing yourself into big mess without beginning and end.
You both need to make list with things that you would like to see, then throw out ideas that you dont like and then start to do it.Ideas popuot during making of the game aswell, but its sometimes hard when one person says its cool idea and other one doesnt like it at all.

So Bloodbane would you like it if you would help someone and do coding and then this person would change it and make it worse ? Or would just delete what you did.
Cause thats experience that i had when helping someone.
Its different when you work with sprite/pixel artist cause when you like his work very much and you give him list of anims and he doesnt make up his own stuf then it could work.

 He'll also get the broken results by doing that too. So unless he don't care what's he's doing, he should realize what he's doing and bothered to ask me.

 The most important elements from cooperation or collaboration are will to get the project done and same idea on project. Even if unskilled person joined the team, he can participate by learning and help the best he can. If he did make things worse, he takes responsibility to fix them.
 OTOH very skilled person without will or interest in project could contribute great but buggy code. He could leave anytime irresponsibily leaving the team in confusion in how to fix the bug.
