Yes I made this 4 years ago. The updated version isn't showing up on the download section yet. I'm not sure how long it takes. Destructoid.com rated this mod as number 2 best unofficial sequels to chrono trigger.

A mod here has to approve it, thats why it's not in the downloads section yet. Congratulations on that rating though.

Not only did I like the first mod, I even used some of the enemies from it in Cosmic Damage so I'll have to update them, somehow you had sprites I couldn't find.
Congrats on the Approval, the rating, and I'm gonna Download it now. :cheers!:

Thanks CybersoulX, I've always wanted to play this mod but I couldn't get the previously released version to display colors properly.  Now it is all good.

Chrono Trigger is a game that reminds of the SNES golden age of gaming and the I always wanted to use the Chrono Trigger characters in a beat em up style environment.  And you threw in Samurai Jack and Trunks for good measure.  Sweetness!

Sorry but i didn't like so much this mod.

Moves are too few. Characters are so short you can't even see if they are attacking or not. Also, stages are immediately full of enemies and you'll often end up saying "ehy where's my tiny char?" O_o

Trunks is a nice add here, we are able to see him and his attacks. But enemies outnumber you so much that the only thing possible is to press the special move button until they are dead (cause you don't actually lose energy using it).

I think this mod should be very good played with friends, the wide stage areas allow to play up to 4 users without problems. But the single player is not so great in my honest opinion. Too bad cause it is clear that there are all the intentions to make it right.  :)

Try to add some effects to chars attacks to make them result clearer and some moves, you could use the stages better, maybe some flying moves could make the difference here.

Sorry you didn't like so much this mod. I wanted the gameplay to be like dynasty warriors with a ton of enemies on screen. The game was too easy with a few enemies at a time. The character sizes are what they are. Can't please everyone. Its funny how people go out of their way to create something and put it out there for everyone else to enjoy but there is always some hater who comes along that can't do anything but hate on people

How funny, that's almost how I make my mods! The trick about making it DW style, though, is that characters move while they attack, and the attacks need to have a z property so it can hit in a wide area. Not to mention juggling, specials, etc...

You need some wide-area attacks to deal gangs of enemies, or players are easily bored by those plain combos.
For example, Crono's Cyclone attack which hits all enemies around him.
Not to metion those duel/triple techs from original game, which need some script work.
