How do you access the Dragon Master? I've beaten it once and didn't see how to use him.

Secret character must be used in secret level.

There's no secret levels in this game, so...

Yeah, you have to paxplode the mod and enable Dragon Master manually to play him. Mr. Q isn't known for making mistakes like that, so I say he is entitled to one or two.

Paxploding is very clearly explained in multiple places, both on this forum and otherwise; I'm not going to go over all of that again as that is what the Help & Resources section is for.

Once you have the module exploded, open the data folder up and go to the chars directory. Find the master and open his text file. Near the top you will find "secret 1". Change this to "secret 0" or just delete it outright. Now either place the data folder in your BOR directory (it will overide any pak being played), or repak the module (also explained in FAQ's). Master is now selectable.

The whole operation will take you all of maybe two minutes, most of that is waiting for the explode/repak operations to complete.

I've played it for several times(although I only beat it once, and I find I'm not bored at all just to play first level)
It's a fine remake of Double Dragon Advanced IMO, although the backgrounds are from super D D/Return of D D on SNES/SFC(this game sucks, eveything is slow since it is a SFC game).

Yeah, maybe the only thing that makes me uneasy is you can't skip those cut scenes. Enemies have quite long hp, even a super move can't kill a single foe, but it is not really a bad thing, enjoy the fight.

Well I paxploaded and you can give your chara 9999HP that seems to make everything very interesting. I also made my fav moves (d d button motions) which made them easier.

I already beat it a few times so this just added some spice.

Damn Dragon Master is awesome, he has Terry's Burn Knuckle/Buster Wolf? The hyped up version, Dragon from World Heroes uppercut dragon, Johnny Cage's ball buster and a shoryuken.

After I enabled those options I kinda beat the game like twice in a row, he,he. Couldn't stop burn knuckling enemies.  >:D

Awh I love Super Double Dragon It's awesome  :( it may not be pretty to look at but it sure does have pretty cool gameplay (I didn't notice the slowdown?) imho, maybe you should give it another chance? One of my fav BEU of all time. I have been playing DD Advance a lot lately that is also pretty cool.

With both games I initially snubbed them but when I went back to them and played them again and again and I found I love them. ;D

This game runs perfect on the latest openbor, because all bugs found before have been fixed.

Also the enemies are very aggressive now, they will attack you in any cost(although they will keep punching you when you are down, but now players have a smaller rise delay, that won't be so bad).

I hope all of you guys try it again.

That sounds great, utunnels! I will give it a try: Return of Double Dragon is an excellent mod!

I would love to upload a new ready-to-burn Dreamcast version to LavaLit and DCEvolution using the latest version of OpenBoR, but unfortunately it still crashes after the player has beat a game and wants to start a new one.  - A command like forcecleanup in levels.txt would help... ;)

How to mod:
1 Pick an interesting game: There are plenty of 8-bit/16-bit classics waiting for a remake
2 Rip your own sprites & stages
3 Use a custom palette: http://borrevolution.vg-network.com/tutorial.htm
4 Check your offsets: http://lavalit.com:8080/index.php?topic=1099.0

You have to have a sense of humor, otherwise you could be bothered about things that really dont matter- there are so many other things that are more worthy of our time and care.

Some interesting things about this game:

1. Hit enemy in the air.
Maybe I didn't quite get it, and I can't do much damage to the enemy with this trick.
For the original dragon character, you can do a cash punch after throw the enemy with grabup2, also a runjumpattack works, but it seems still not quite damaging, just funny to watch. Certain enemy like Abobo is bit harder to hit with a dash punch because the throw height is a lower than other enemies. You can also hit enemy after a grabdown attack, but I can't manage to hit unless the enemy is against a wall. So when then enemy is against a wall, it is much easier to do this trick, you can use FDA special to hit him twice, or use a FDJ special to knee him back in the air.
For the dragon master, you can still use grabup2 to kick the enemy high in the air, so you can still use this trick. But this time it is much cheaper because you can hit the enemy with FDS special, which is quite damaging and you don't need a wall.

2. Skip cut scenes for certain bosses.
Well, I don't get bored by the scenes although I played this game tens of times. But it is more interesting to do this trick.
The first boss(the Matrix guy in 1-3), you can easily punch him back when he jumps out of the room.(I usually give him a upper knee attack)
The second boss(known as Jeff), a bit harder to time, you can do a DBJ special to kick his words back or if you are using the dragon master, throw him a powerful special attack.
Well, I didn't try other bosses maybe they are impossible to skip because most of them don't walk when spawned so the text box appears at once.

Now it's 3x pitiful... - I really don't get it. What could anyone possibly complain about with this game ?
