Aww...no more knees to the faces? I loved doing that. Still, that doesn't stop me from giving the game a go when it's released here.

Yeah, the grappling is pretty much non-existent. You have an entire button dedicated to grabbing, but only two grab moves (way to make good use of those extra buttons). No counter catch, no getting caught by enemies and breaking loose, no elbows, no knees, no somer-assault, no upper kick, not even the wonky one arm headbutt or German Suplex from DDIII. All of it is gone.

Instead, the grab button picks up weapons or auto throws a nearby stunned enemy (normal size only). It also looks pretty silly; you sling him like a towel clear across the screen. If you stun two close together, you'll instead grab both, slam their heads together, and chuck them to either side. That's it.

It's a good thing I stay away from this game. The only redeeming factor in this is that have a decent soundtrack.

I bought it not too long after it was released, I'm enjoying it despite the lack of mechanics. The soundtrack is excellent, I hope to see someone use these tracks in a mod it would be perfect! ;D

waypoint said it's possible they'll add the battletoads if there's enough demand, maybe they'll also consider bringing back these missing elements?

This game is good. especially for $10. Much better than that Double dragon II XBLA game that came out and was cancelled soon after, i got it, but pretty bad. no wonder it was cancelled. Double Dragon Neon seems like a spoof, but it gets better the longer you play.

It seems like the BOR community is actually being watched by XBLA developers. Final Fight, Streets of Rage and Double Dragon. what next, a new Golden Axe.

I doubt it, they just rehash whatever sold well in the past.

For a real  DD fan... every Double Dragon game is good.

No it isn't. Double Dragon 3 arcade (and any conversions, except nes dd3 which I love), and DDV shadow falls, are terrible games.

The Soundtrack of DDNeon is amazing, I'll give you that.
Skullmageddon?  oh gawd...

a really "hate" point is that the gameplay looks so slow... the movements are slow...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VsS1ACkLRMs&feature=g-user-u

also no excuse of Jimmy being just a remap. On SDD/RODD and DD GBA Jimmy have different sprites. Still hating the "high bro" and the TMNT Michaelangelo appeal on the Lee brothers.

Finally, it's been released here. I'm downloading it right now. Gonna play it in a couple of minutes :)

EDIT: Aww, it's only a demo for now...and the weird thing is, I already paid for the game :hmm: Demos are free, right?

When you buy it, you get a demo, which is really the whole game, and a tiny unlock file. That's why it looks like a demo.

Well, in that case, I probably only have to wait for the UNLOCK file, because I can't play the full game yet.

AFAIK buying the full version IS getting the unlock file, while also downloading the demo if you haven't done so already. There shouldn't have to be a re-download involved...

Try and download it again. If it still won't give you access to the full game, call up Sony. It shouldn't be like that.

I think they just made a mistake. I saw on another forum that other people had also paid and downloaded the game and only got the demo. So I'm not the only one with this problem it seems.

Well, they finally fixed the mistake and now I can play the full game. I'm already at Mission 7 and I'm enjoying the game very much ;D I also like the music. I'm glad the 'Mission 2' song from the first DD is in this. But holy ****, this game is hard! I had to use a couple of continues at Missions 2 and 6.

I just saw it on XBLA last week, looking for new releases and there it was, and I never heard of it, so I got it and tried it out. Not a really big DD fan but Bozefus(if you guys remember him) got me into Return of DD for SNES, which we played together online, and I liked BT/DD the ultimate team, but mainly for the toads.
Anyway, I tried it, and I actually kinda like it. I do feel the voices(really for the twins) is a bit.... unnatural for them at times, but in all, it seems like a worthwhile buy.

I didnt want to give in but im a HUGE Double dragon fan so I bought it. The price isnt too bad but I think $5 would of been better. There are alot of levels 16 I believe so thats good for the price. Like everyone else has said the music is great but Billy and Jimmy sound like Michelangelo from TMNT which is odd but gives it a cartoon like feel. Its a pretty hard game but with two people not that bad id say
Graphics 7/10
Sound   10/10
Gameplay 6/10
Overall 7/10 not as good as the old school ones  :blushing: but for DD not having a game for a long time ill take it, hopefully they can inprove on it and make more down the line
