making the player interact with an object

hello

i would like to make the player interact with an object

when the player press the attack button the object plays an animation and the player plays an animation then all goes back to normal

is it possible to make this ?

 It is possible but you might need to choose proper type for the object.
 NPC is good choice but if you already has NPC, you might want to try obstacle.

 I can imagine what scripts to use for the interaction but my biggest concern is type of object to avoid other entities from 'interacting'.

make a enemy with just a idle animation and pain maybe defense 100% so it cant die and when attacked have the pain animation show speech bubbles or spawn a text entity that will pause all action so text can be read !

To avoid attack animation you need to script, otherwise it should be fairly easy. Pain animation, hit flash, etc.

Or you can simply make a talk button (for example, a2 to a4), make the freespecial exactly like your idle pose. You can shift the bbox of the NPC to somewhere like 0 -1000 100 100 so only your talk freespecial can hit it. Should do the trick.

i was thinking in from example a lever where you can see the player pull the lever down...
the player would play an animation and so the object

is there an example of this kind of animation in a game where i can base on ?
