Alright, the new beta demo I've been working is here. It features pain sliding, 2D gameplay, and new comers. There's only a few characters from the actual SGMB mod since this is only for testing the features for the full game, so this isn't an update of it and I'm not uploading it in the downloads section. You can be damaged by sliding opponents and I'm having second thoughts on it, so Please give feedback on that and 2D the level gameplay and design and well... have fun with it. There's also some credit I have to throw in here:

MCX, BonusJZ, and BloodBane for 2D gameplay help and a few other problems.

The-Man-Of-Tomorrow for his edits on Toejam, Earl, Earthworm Jim, and a new stage called "Robotnick's Fortress". You can visit his Deviantart page here: http://the-man-of-tomorrow.deviantart.com/

Youtube user SongeLeReveur, for his permission for using three of his Game cover tracks for this demo. This guy's good, trust me, check the tracks here yourself and see:

Post by: DJGameFreakTheIguana on April 26, 2009, 02:55:05 pm
Yo, I have a quick question: I thought that the stage Palletes had to be pal.act files like the one in the data folder, but I just had a thought, Does this pallete command work like the header command for chars? I should have asked before I burned it already but it's too late now. it's probably why my stage were al color inverted on chaotix rage when I burned it.

I thought that the stage Palletes had to be pal.act files like the one in the data folder,

 Well, you're wrong. Stage palettes can have their own colors.
 In 8bit, they must contain pal.act as their 1st colors. In 16bit and 32bit, no need for that, just put all background colors in there.

but I just had a thought, Does this pallete command work like the header command for chars?

 No. There's no command to load stage palettes. There's command to alter stage palette though.

 You didn't set 'background' did you?

Stage panels can have their own colors for the reasons you mention, but frontpanels must be using the same colors as pal.act. Just thought I'd throw that out there.  :)

now that I think about it, I'll have to look at my first stage again, in fact one of my stage Backround was messed up, but the panal wasn't.

 Eh? strange, I've been making frontpanels and most of them (if not all) uses colors not from pal.act.
 Hmmm... let me try making frontpanel for 16bit.

i can't seem to get it for some reason but i'll try to message the creator to see if i can get them for you to use. ;) otherwise plz use the above sprites. he's like a flagship character to sega it dosen't seem right without him :teary_eyed:

that wasn't it, I actually had him framed up and ready to mod, but DC had him in an older version of his mod that was already done, and could be Easily Transferred over to this. I guess he didn't get to it yet. BTW the SOR sprites are tight, wonder which I should use ;D

 :hmm:Hey I think that "omega941" has rason since the SHINOBI 3 of SEGA GENESIS was the best and more playable vertion of the whole saga! :cheers!:
Title: Re: Sega Genesis Mega Brawler Demo V4.8
Post by: DJGameFreakTheIguana on June 21, 2009, 10:49:25 pm
I did play a few levels of it. It was really good, I may play the rest later. The only game of the series I knew as a kid was shadow dancer, but I've seen how good the games were on youtube so I do plan to add him. I'll rip the stage ans Enemies to among other games.
Title: Re: Sega Genesis Mega Brawler Demo V4.8
Post by: omega941 on June 21, 2009, 11:58:04 pm
yay ;D  yes you definitly need to play shinobi 3 it is the best of the series an one of the best games on the genesis I'm really shoked that you haven't played through that man  :wow!: that's like one of the greatest ninja games ever concieved. If that's the case i would recommend using the one i just gave you as those are the sprites from that game but those other one have already been preset so... well it's your mod so whatever you chose to use i'll be happy.

I love the concept.
Sweet idea!

BTW the basic BOR stage can be replaced by a more genesis-like street (SOR series?)
I'm sure it can give your project a better ambience.
Keep it up, bro.

All the ones I crossed out are not only well known characters who's had game after the Genesis titles, but they don't have too much relation to sega other than those genesis titles. Double Dragon is a maybe, but the genesis games sucked. However,Bozeefus got me into Return of DD on SNES, so if they are in, I'll use those sprites. I'd like to add Aero the Acrobat, but I don't see too many good fighting sprites. I'm getting help in ripping shadow dancer.

@ALUCARD2009: thanks for your comment. :)
Another author is working on the Gunstars at the moment, but they will be on as soon I'm given a link. I actually forgot about Guardian Heroes, but I know I got sprites somewhere, thanks for reminding me.  ;)

@Mrgrill247: I've been on a bit of a hiatus, mostly ripping Toejam & Earl sprites. other than that, I've been playing genesis titles like Contra hard Corps(ripping on occasion). but I do get some work done from time to time, but I was set back due to a txt file mistake that came outta nowhere. stages for now are mostly Streets of Rage and sonic related for now.

It will be a long time before the finished product is ready, mostly on the account of many Genesis Games that didn't have any sprites ripped, but I'll keep this updated till then. ;)

good work!i'have tested your game in psp phat and it's perfect.The newcomers are originals and very interesting.The design and the presentation are very cool.the move of the characters have progressed.the level design and the sound are cool and the animation of characters are very impressive ;).it's a good idea to add a vilain in motorcycle in some arena,the danger come everywhere.your game gain precision.when your character enter in the arena,you feel it's really an royal rumble. great work!bro!THANKS FOR YOUR GAME! ;)
p.s:i think this characters could be good challengers because they are exclusivity of genesis:the characters of ex-mutant,the heroe of moonwalker,the characters of fatman,the heroes of kageki,a wrestler in wrestlewar,one of the two crude dude,kid chameleon,and max decap of decap attack(i'm sure you will love this last,because he could be a funny rival for earthworm jim).

About your suggestions, most of them I want to add, but hardly any of them were ripped. and I know who you mean by Jim's rival, I'll try to rip Psycrow and get him in somehow. you did mean psycrow right? Boogerman was Jim's rival in clayfighter 63/3.

thanks for your answer dj!since your first demo,your game have progressed a lot.the animation and the general gameplay are fabulous.no problem for my suggestion,i know it's difficult to introduce any character in a game.you are founded a good balance for your game and intering a bad character could change this equilibrium.only the modder can feel exactly the needs of his game and i respect this.i'm an old player and i can only remind you the games we have played in our sega genesis. ;)for jim's rival,psycrow or boogerman is an good idea.p.s:i have a new suggestion,i think the heroes of growl (runark)could be good challenger.

@Alucard: Don't worry man, I plan on adding bad guys in this game to, likely as Secret characters, Including Psycrow and maybe even boogerman if he's got the sprites for this. and the reason why I release this in updates is because I wanted people to play this as it progresses, I thought it was a good idea. ;D

@FW: AS was one of the first chars I started on when I first came up with the idea of Ultimate Alliance.

I'm kinda am. As much as Sega Genesis classics have been neglected from fan game work,  I wont spend 24/7 of my time on this mod for a while. I've recently played Mega the power fighters 2(which I haven't play since that megman collection was new when I rented it) to plan on how I'm going to redo Megasonic, cause it's the mod that inspired me to get into BOR. but more about that later.  ;)
BTW, I saw your vid on guardian Heroes, since they were on the Sega saturn, you know I'll be waiting for that right?  ;)

Hey folks, first off, I've changed the name of Sega Genesis Mega Brawler, to Sega Brawlers MegaMix, like Fighters Megamix, which was made by sega, look it up on youtube, cause I didn't know it existed. :laughing: I uploaded the new beta yesterday, but didn't know that I did because I didn't get the sign that told me that it uploaded, so I tried to upload it again with some stuff I fixed, so if you admins see it, could you delete my last copy it and upload the new one? I don't know if it did because it was stuck on the upload screen again. Thanks.

EDIT:
Also, I tried to upload the data copy for guests, but Mediafire wasn't uploading it for some reason. I'll try a different browser, and see if I can get it up soon. For now, you have to register for it.

Mediafire is not a browser, it is an host. I never registered there and it works fine for me, try it in a different moment maybe the server was too busy  ;)
Title: Re: Sega Genesis Mega Brawler Demo V7.9
Post by: DJGameFreakTheIguana on February 22, 2010, 06:57:20 pm
When I said browser, I mean trying to upload the file to mediafire through Google chrome, instead of firefox. I came across a problem before where I couldn't upload something on the firefox Browser, but uploaded when I was on google chrome, only because I was in a rush and used chrome since it was already up. Right now on chrome, the new beta has loaded up 100%, and is waiting for verification, if it goes through. The thing is, for the last two days, I've tried uploading to mediafire, and the upload bar goes from 0 to 97% in a matter of seconds, but then the calculation bar goes all the way down, and it's stuck there.

EDIT:
Ok, the last copy I uploaded last night is in the download section, so if any admins here can, please delete the one I uploaded in this Link, because I had a bug, and I don't know how to delete it. Thanks:

Thanks Spawn, at least one person got working on the wii, it actually cut off on me once while I was in green hill, so it may still be buggy(and I should have checked log before going green hill again). This mod is really perfect yet(to moderate standards anyway), I still got got stuff to make and fix: Ai, more pain anims, stages to rip, etc., but it's good so far. The original demo(first link), only works on PC, because of the video settings, so getting that on the wii is my next priority, along with new characters:

Ah don't worry about.Yeah you may need to add some things,but is any mod perfect?,think about it i can't say any mod is perfect there is always something that you can change/add/edit to make it better or in rare cases worse.I have to say tho your mod is heading in the Perfection section.That's OK if it doesn't work on the wii,I'll just use my computer lol,like i should have done from the begging.

Your welcome man, and it's good to hear I helped you get BOR working on the wii. It's cool that yor kids is a sonic fan, since I've been a sonic fan myself since I was a kid. A bit of advice, don't go on Sonic forums talking about how he's a big sonic fan, because a lot of sonic fanboys at the sega forums try to clown me for liking sonic 3D games that they don't, like shadow the hedgehog. Infact, just don't hang around the fanbase much, they'll ruin sonic for him, lmao. Anyway, glad yall enjoying this mod.

For guest users, uploading the data downloads may take time, so you guys may have to wait till tomorrow. Now that I finally got these demo's done, I'm going to take some time off from it, and start working on Cosmic Damage again, and what time I decide to squeeze in for GHZ and Megasonic, plus I offered assistance to NickyP and ryomaneo, so I should get to them to.  :)

SBMM has a lot more characters to load up than your average mod, and the point where it turns purple is the point when it's loading all those characters, so you'll have to be patient. The last time I kept track, this took about 8 minutes to load up, but the wait is worth it.

Yo people, I'm gonna give this patch thing a try. On the front page of this thread, under Beta demo, you will find the data folder download link. Under that, you will find a Data Update patch link. The patch is a zip folder with the files of the new changes and additions to the mod. If you have the most recent data download for the beta, just donwload the patch and unzip the files to the data folder and try to start the mod. I just made tests and changes before uploading, so it should work. If it doesn't, let me know so I can fix the bug. If this goes well, I may continue to update the beta demo by patches.

Good stuff there DJ, you've really stepped your game up.
The background and stage design and characters are well matched. I like the alternation between 2.5d and 2d stages.  Sonic worked really well on level 2, it was fun to platform with him.  Your in game HUD is really swift too.   :cheers!:

I've only played the first and second stage but I managed to crash the game somehow.

I'll holler back with more feedback.

Less characters? If your using the beta demo(which I assume you are), it should have less characters then the main demo. If you updated, your select screen should look like what I have posted below. Are you missing any character from there? If so, who are they?

Well, there's the problem. I never had them in the beta demo(yet), so this means you zipped the files into the data folder for MAIN demo. The update is for BETA demo. If you go back to the first page, you'll see Main or Beta demo in Big text. Any links under them are for that demo. I can see the confusion though, so this will take some getting use to, but the update link is posted right under the d beta link.  :)

Cool. I'll try making this more clear on the first page in the future, in case anyone else gets confused. You can play both of these demos, just keep them in separate folders so this doesn't happen again.  :)

Finally, after two days of failed uploads and swithing over to another uploader, the new SBMM data download for the beta is up on the front page. With it being so long since the last update, I completely forgot I was updating them patches, lol. I made changes to about every char though, so it would've been hard to keep track of anyway. The pak file may be uploaded later tonight if it goes fast enough, we'll just have to see, but the new download comes with the borpak.exe file, so you guys who actually know how to do it can make the pak yourself.

EDIT:
Ok, the beta Pak file link is now up to. Also, here's the shots of the new characters added(some of them modded from the main demo)

 Alright, I have tried the noreflect demo and although it's fun to play, there are 2 aspects which bugs me:
1. There's no story or anything, so the stages don't give journey to something. I don't even understand what's the boss is for or why that guy becomes the boss.
2. It's true that NPCs appear early when level starts but since it's mod with mixed characters, it's hard to differ which one is enemy and which one is NPC especially when the heat is on.

 So in general, what the stages aside of battle are for?

At least it was fun.  :eek:

That will all be told in my final project. Just know that it'll basically be a big battle between good and evil(which is why I mixed up the enemies to show you what will go down.)

Quote
2. It's true that NPCs appear early when level starts but since it's mod with mixed characters, it's hard to differ which one is enemy and which one is NPC especially when the heat is on.
Really? Well yeah, since I always have a battle mode, at this point it may be confusing, but like I said before, it's good vs. evil, so you will be able to tell in the future, because I do intend on using NPCs throughout the game.

Quote

Just to experiment at making SBMM play more like the marvel alliance games:
Spoiler
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bsZ1NUI-AA4&feature=related
If you notice, usually when small attacks connect, the person being hit doesn't in flinch, but still losses energy, which keeps most of the action constant, unless hit with heavier attacks. Also, this is a good example of what I want the final project to be like. A 2D marvel Alliance.

Ugh I feel very confused as to what I should download for this game? I'm really, really behind on the builds by the look of it. I would rather just download the latest version than apply all the patches.

I couldn't find the chara list, it doesn't seem to be in the first post?
Really great work so far DJ, I knew this game would be great, if only more people knew about obor, I think this game would probably be extremely popular, it's too bad you can't upload it to yoyo games or something.

Well it's not too hard. The snapshot up their in the top right corner have all the latest updates, so you can download any of them on the fly, unzip which version you want, then your done.  :)

I understand what you mean. Not to sound conceited but I do think this game could be found more appealing then regular Smash Bros. Flash games to a lot of people, but not many will find out about it because OpenBOR isn't universally known like some engines and site, which is why I always try to plug it, SBMM, and lavalit to any sites I'm on, but it seems people are just not even taking notice at all. But hey, the support from you guys and the few who tune in is enough, I just hope to have more recognition  by the time I try going commercial.

http://www.mediafire.com/?j1hfh7rwv6g46xk - 9/10/2011

It's only the data folder since I can't pak because of too many files(or that was the case the last time I tried), but it comes with a blank pak and a build of openBOR so you can start it. I'll be back later to upload it to the download section.

I know you are still working on the game so there is lots of sprite pages and temp files. Can I suggest for your next upload that you do a quick search and delete of useless files. The mod pak is 355MB. It took a few seconds to do a search in the /data folder for *.bmp *.bak *.pcx and thumbs.db using the address bar in the top right of windows. The mod could repak with a size of 165MB just deleting those project files the engine does not use. Do this to a copy of your project so you don't get rid of things you need for yourself.
Before: 14706 files 355.41mb
After: 13312 files 165.87mb
.pcx 541 files 2.7mb
.bak 419 files 2.8mb
.bmp 204 files 155mb
thumbs.db between 25 to 30mb
The bmp pictures and thumbs are killin your file size!

@becker:
I did that weeks ago, but because I can't pak this mod because I hit the limit for pak files, you must've used the old pak version. At the moment, I'm re-uploading the new release with the data folder opened, and it's down to 151.mb. Download it from the demos sections when it's approved again. For some reason, it couldn't load Font#1 even though it was there, and after copying and pasting the same folder from another copy of the mod, it worked.

@DARK HAYABUSA:
It has been a while, hasn't it? Anyway, slow your roll on that download until it's approved again.

Finally sat down to play this.  I'd actually argue that there's too many characters but I know that the crossover idea is part of the appeal.  However not only does that affect the long load times, it'll make balancing the game a headache.  Case in point, Gunstar Heroes seem a little overpowered.  I will say that I'm very impressed with the level design and the special menu systems.

Yeah, it can be overwhelming, which is why the menu's have colors, to show hoe many A.I.s are in the stage. I believe I put it down in the readme.txt. My best advice is that in big fights, don't get in the middle, attack from the outside.
Also, this is the reason I also have adventure and Arcade mode, but both need more content.

True, and there's not much I can do about load times, but for the balance for shooters, I may alter their MP so you wont spam your shots. I tried to do this with Alisia dragoon, but it may need more work.

It's mainly the roster of characters, but after I get Max and a few Golden Axe chars ready for this mod, I'll work on arcade mode next so yall can fight them bosses. The new Golden Axe Legends mod has some good choices, and even enemies I thought I'd have to rip myself.  ;)

4 new chars to the roster, and 5 stages in battle mode. Coming up next: A new mode.
I also edited my last upload in the downloads section, so approval needed. Peace.
EDIT: Almost forgot to mention3 things:
SBMM is paked now, no data folders here(yet), and use the OpenBOR build that comes in this zip file, the current ones now mess up the Front Panel and puts in in the middle of the screen. Once I figure out how it works, I'll update it for current builds. Also, remember to visit the option menu to change your controls, and set keys for attack 1 through 4.

It's that time again folks. Keep in mind that I wanted to release this on New years eve or day, and I worked hard since last monday to fix up everything, but I couldn't work as fast or as much as I needed to. NY's eve I was gonna release this, but ran into some last minute bugs before uploading it, so I was gonna release this pass 12:00, but then I ran into one bug after another, and just as I'm gonna release it, Earthworm f***in' Jim had his freespecials crossed, so I just gave up and went home. I got it all fixed today but got sidetracked again, and mediafire takes almost an hour to upload it, so I missed the day just by half a damn hour. I guess late's better then never.  :bored:

Anyway, here's the new stuff:

--Rick Taylor and Mutant Rick updated for this mod.

--New moves for Earthworm Jim, Toejam and Earl thanks to The-Man-Of-Tomorrow from deviantart, the same guy who helped me out in the past with TJ&E, but his youtube account was banned.

--The-Man-Of-Tomorrow also provided me with a new stage called "Robotnick's Fortress" that uses a BG from the AoStH cartoon(The one with just sonic and tails, and the only one that featured Scratch and Grounder). I edited the panel to make it bigger.

--Another user from DA, RavTheHedgehog, provided me a stage for Oil Ocean from sonic 2, so I could use this metal remix of it with this guy who raps over it. You can listen to it here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qsr-9-6h2Dc
I wanted that stage to be bigger so I edited his original design. This ain't smash bros son.  ;)

--Newly added Alliance mode. Team up with four other heroes to take down hordes of mixed bad guys seen in adventure mode, then face 2 bosses at once. Since this was only 4 stages long, I made this a locked set until you clear adventure. Once I add more stages, I'll unlock by default, I just don't want players unlocking characters all willy-nilly..... at least not yet anyway. Look on the bright side though, at least Shiva, Metal sonic and the others can be used in this mode.  ;)

You can download it here, and I'll upload to Downloads soon: http://www.mediafire.com/?v5jkzdhadnv4nm8

EDIT:
I edited my Sega Brawlers link in the demos section now, needs approval.

What up guys. I haven't done too much work on brawlers since the last release, but I have been going around character's txt files and adding "DropV 1 2 or 1 3" on certain attacks to throw off cheap juggling. It's gonna take a while before I get it all done because I'll have to go through every txt file to do it, but I wanna know if anyone here has any suggestions on it. Should I stick with adding dropV or use another method? I thought about juggle points but you'd have to set a certain amount of points for each character, and some of them have attacks that's meant to juggle, if for any reason the enemy is hit with it in the air, and wouldn't it have an effect on how much they can be juggled? Other then that, is there anything else?

 Dunno about you but for me pasting dropv 1 2 to every text should be quick enough. Only couple minutes :).

 About your cheap juggling issue, you could use jugglepoint and jugglecost.

 I can understand your juggling dilemma, I prefer balancing it with other way. For instance, enemies which can be juggled easily have deadly or annoying attacks so player is in situation to juggle or die ;). Alternatively, you can add knockdowncount combined knockdown power to make juggling harder but possible.

 Simply put, you should challenge player's juggling skill instead of limiting it.

Do you not know how many playable characters are in this game now? It's like 60 somethin', and each have 4 txt files, and that's before the enemies.  :laughing:

There is that, and maybe it could work later on when it's only enemies your fighting, but I really meant it for battle mode, when your fighting other heroes. Just check out what happened around 0:36 of this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gNk0WNmYsok

You also have to take into account that some heroes have combo attacks, and I'd like them to be able to juggle airborne enemies with them till their done. You also have characters like the guardian Heroes who shoot special DBZ style beams.

 Hmmm.... I've watched the video and I understand your dilemma. I don't think dropv and jugglepoints could solve it.

 I have an idea with script which works like this: in each character's FALL animation, there's counter using script which counts how many juggles this character has taken. If it reaches limit, it will change the animation to other FALL animation which has no bbox at all.
 This will prevent character from being juggled too much.

 Haven't tried this yet though but are you interested?

Now that i thought about it, I may just stick with DropV cause the tests I did with it came out pretty good, but it wouldn't hurt to try your script to, I can could try it with bosses and other mods.

 Alright, here you go:

Code: [Select]
anim fall
@script
    if(frame == 0){
      void self = getlocalvar("self");
      void Fall = getlocalvar("Fall" + self);

      if(Fall==NULL()){
        setlocalvar("Fall" + self, 1);
        Fall = 1;
      }
      if(Fall < 6){
        setlocalvar("Fall" + self, Fall+1);
      } else if(Fall>=6){ // Falls reach limit?
        setlocalvar("Fall" + self, NULL());
        changeentityproperty(self, "animation", openborconstant("ANI_FALL2"));
      }
    }
@end_script
delay      50
        landframe 3
offset     101 130
bbox 69 70 73 110
         frame      data/chars/flau/fall1.gif
delay      20
bbox 67 22 90 110
         frame      data/chars/flau/fall2.gif
delay      500
         frame      data/chars/flau/fall3.gif
delay      10
bbox 0
frame     data/chars/flau/fall4.gif

anim fall2
        landframe 1
        delay   1000
offset 44 88
frame data/chars/flau/2toss.gif
        delay   20
offset  101 130
frame   data/chars/flau/fall3.gif
frame   data/chars/flau/fall4.gif

anim rise
@script
    void self = getlocalvar("self");

    setlocalvar("Fall" + self, NULL());
@end_script
delay      30
offset     101 130
         frame      data/chars/flau/fall4.gif
delay      20
         frame      data/chars/flau/rise1.gif
frame     data/chars/flau/rise2.gif

 In this example, there are 3 animations: FALL with bbox, FALL2 without bbox and RISE. The script you need is on FALL and RISE (just copy the whole and change frame, offset, bbox etc in the animations).
 The script works like this: when FALL animation is played or entity is knocked down, a counter (whose state is stored in local variable) counts from 1. This counter will be resetted in RISE animation IOW when entity no longer falls. When juggled, entity replay FALL animation again which increments the counter. If this is repeated until six knock downs or 5 juggles, the script will change animation to FALL2 animation without bbox.

 If you want to change FALL2 animation, just replace the text with other FALL animation (don't forget the caps).
 If you want to change the limit, change 6 in these 2 lines:
Quote
      if(Fall < 6){

Quote
      } else if(Fall>=6){

 to any value you want. No negative value BTW.

Thanks BloodB, I'll try that out soon.

BTW,  I'm still going through with OpenBORstats to at DropV to every character and enemy in the mod, and fixing a few things along the way. There may not be too many new features for the next update, but I'm thinking of bringing two more characters from Guardian Heroes.

Yo, I just tested the script with Barbon and it worked. Thanks again BloodB, I'll keep this around for bosses.

 Glad it works!
 though I thought you are going to use it for players.

 Anyways, just wondering did you change juggle limit? you could set any value you want.

I was but I wanna keep it with DropV, but it'll be best for bosses. About DropV, I was looking for some sort of way to get a similar effect without have to go through every char txt file, but that's been moving along faster since I thought to use OpenBORstats.

I did change the limit though, that was the first thing I did to make sure that worked.

Hey DJ, great work so far! I can't wait to see/play the final product. I tried to DL the "noreflect demo", but the filedropper link was no good. Also where can I DL the latest 1/2/2012 demo? I'm a bit confused about that lol.

Edit:

I know your post about modding your PSP Slim is old, but if you need help with that, just send me a PM. I'll hook you up with the info and links that you'll need.

Here's the new update for Sega Brawlers Megamix:
http://www.mediafire.com/file/i337amb97u0ri3k/Sega_Brawlers_Megamix(NewV1.0).zip
Because I lost count of the version number because of computer issues years back, I'm starting the count over but will call it NewVersion from now on. I spent most of my time on this update adding DropV to everything to prevent heavy juggling in big brawls, usually in Battle mode. The game does have 2 new characters, Mecha Knuckles and Tiger(Streets of Rage 3 Martial Arts enemy), but both are locked and can only be played after beating adventure mode to unlock the other modes. Charmy Bee from Chaotix has been updated from the older version of the mod and included in this update. A new stage has been added to Mission Mode, featuring music from recently released in Japan, Max Anarchy(Anarchy Reigns being it's US name).

Having a job has slowed my work on this mod down, but in the future, I'll try to update regularly with small stuff, or fewer characters and/or other additions. Until then, drop comments if you play the new update, it's always appreciated.

Thanks letting me know about the broken link man. I didn't go any further on it anyway, so I took it off. I also removed the link to the older game, you guys don't need it.  ;D

That thing was broken years ago, lol. I just upgraded to the Vita last Friday, I just need to figure out how to pl;ay Gex on it, if the Wi-Fi ever connects to the damn nework.

aw, could you please reupload the old demo? The one with the Streets of Rage level as stage 1? none of the newer builds work on my wii, and its not nearly as much fun to play on my computer without a friend.

Sorry man, I did some testing in that old version to prepare for this version, I don't know if it would even work, plus, it's still in my old computer that isn't hooked up. Maybe some time I could try to copy it and see if I can remove anything that makes it stop working, which I specifically don't know what that is. I couldn't even get that info back when my own wii was working. Right now, I'm searching bing to see if there's still a link to it somewhere.

i like this game, its great to have so much variety of characters, only issues i have is that the levels are really long and a bit repetitive beacuse theres way too many enemies before level progresses so you fight the same enemies for ages and it gets stale. Do you know what i mean ? like its good to have large amounts of enemies but the pacing of the fights feel really drawn out

Yours is super fun to play, DJ! I like all the variety and tons of stuff you added. The last version of the demo was 8.8. Now I would assume that it would've been version 9.0 or 8.9.

Thanks for your feedback. I wanna keep a lot of enemies there to keep players busy, but maybe I could lower some of their health? For Alliance mode, I have to keep them there because of your allies, but in adventure mode, I can try to lower some stuff.

9.something, but I released other version since that mishap, and that was over a year ago, so this could be 12 or 13 for all I know. I'm just gonna call it NewV so we don't have to worry about that bit. Also, thanks for your comment, I'm currently working everyone's MP to resemble Streets of Rage 3, except freespecials will also drain it, but it refreshes on it's own to limit attacks that fill it quickly and limit how many times a player using those attacks.  ;)

EDIT: I got Sega Brawlers in the downloads section now. I forgot I could just upload the link from mediafire, and I'm impressed by how fast it was approved. Good work guys.  :cheers!:

I'm going to have to give this a try!! I thought you had already released the last version, years ago, when I stopped being active.

Good luck, cannot wait until this is finished.

Thanks, but like I tell everyone else, it'll be a long time before it's finished. The game won't stop, can't stop, and doesn't know how to stop!

.....unless otherwise noted... I still got a lot of other mod ideas in the back of my head.

The update is here people, get it now!
http://www.mediafire.com/file/9aa2ibt0ias440t/Sega_Brawlers_Megamix(NewV2.7).RAR

This update features fixed MP bars for all characters, now your special moves drain it, so don't use them unless it's full or it will drain some of your life. Freespecials can still be used for less MP and wont drain life, so choose wisely. Also, Yuko, Valna, and Cham from Valis 3 have been ripped and added, and 1 secret character. I also changed the sonic bridge level in adventure mode, now it's just holes in it, like the bridge level from Streets of Rage one, where you fight those fat fire breathing bosses.

Sega Brawlers is also ported to the Wii again, but some of the stages in battle mode will crash the game and send you back to the loading screen. I listed those stages in the included READ-ME file in the winrar file.

If you have any problems, just let me know.

There wont be for a long time. I'll keep building on this till I have enough to make the series of Sega mods I originally started with Chaotix Rage, back when I was still a newbie. Of course, Brawlers will have full adventure and arcade modes by then.

good work!i'have tested your game in psp phat and it's perfect.The newcomers are originals and very interesting.The design and the presentation are very cool.the move of the characters have progressed.the level design and the sound are cool and the animation of characters are very impressive ;).it's a good idea to add a vilain in motorcycle in some arena,the danger come everywhere.your game gain precision.when your character enter in the arena,you feel it's really an royal rumble. great work!bro!THANKS FOR YOUR GAME! ;)
p.s:i think this characters could be good challengers because they are exclusivity of genesis:the characters of ex-mutant,the heroe of moonwalker,the characters of fatman,the heroes of kageki,a wrestler in wrestlewar,one of the two crude dude,kid chameleon,and max decap of decap attack(i'm sure you will love this last,because he could be a funny rival for earthworm jim).

how did you make it work on psp? mine said my psp crashed whenever the load bar reached 1/4 of it...
