Any anime fans?

Making a thread here for any anime fans of giving your opinions on them or whatever. I usually watch the ones Adult Swim shows on Saturdays, but I also watch watch ones that come up on demand. I've just gotten into Sengoku Basara and Basilisk. Basilisk I'm really into though, it's naruto without the crap that comes with him. The thing that gets me about is that it kinda starts of as a love story between to people from different clans who are Rivals, and after the people the girls side get's this scroll, they start killing people on the dudes side behind their backs, but one of their own just got killed, and I'm just on EP.10!
BTW, since it takes to0 long for DEMAND to load up episodes(like 2,3 or even 4 weeks sometimes), I go to watchcartoononline.com to download them and watch them on the wii late in the night.

Before I go.... Afro Samurai. Best anime Now and forever.

BTW, there's a channel on youtube I watch where this guy talks a lot about movies, video games, Mugen(old videos though), and anime to. He actually had a series of videos about anime called the animock series. I watched them all, but can't remember jack because it was so long ago, but I'll leave the first video up for anyone interested in it. Just to warn you though, he uses some bad launguage and the stuff he's saying is not really that good. lol

Another anime fan here. Been an Anime fan since I started watching Sailor Moon or Gundam. I forgot. I only remember Sailor Moon. I('ve) watched some of them, but I miss alot of 'em. Some shows I remember watching was The Spriggans (bloody/gory, actually), Fatal Fury The Motion Picture (which I have it as DVD), Teknoman, Ronin Warriors, a little bit of Ninja Scroll. I forgot some. But I remember watching one Anime at my relative's house but I don't know the name of it.

Also, there is a group who work on the Mugen project with Anime characters. I think they're more than 40 characters in the roster. The name of the group is C.R.O.M. (Creative Rebel of Mugen) and the project is Anime Battle Royale. The characters from the different Anime titles are going to be in the project, but they need spriters to sprite characters for appearance just like other Mugen game projects.

Every time I recommend this, it falls on deaf ears - but seriously, watch Kino's Journey. It's the best. Truly thought provoking, it'll make you look at cultures, both foreign and your own, in a completely new way. (I'm not usually a stickler for subs vs dubs, but I'd recommend you want it with subs. Kino's American voice sounds very off.)

I'd also recommend Berserk, but I don't know if y'all are old enough for that one.

Most other anime series out there don't really do anything for me, especially most modern anime - although I have really enjoyed the Haruhi series as well as Panty & Stocking With Garterbelt.

I have seen Berserk only subbed and it was great but towards the end man talk about FUBAR.

Also I agree with ya, most modern anime isn't quite like back in the 70's, 80's and 90's.
But I like some modern anime shows like Angel Beats!! (highly recommended) and High School of the Dead.

LMAO, Panty & Stocking With Garterbelt. I ran into that a few weeks ago on the front page of youtube, and I've gotten through the first 5 EPs. Man, that has to be one of the funniest animes I've ever seen. 

I don't know much about the old anime, but the few old ones I've seen are kinda better though, especially when it comes to the old gundom animes vs. the new ones. I heard of High School of the dead from the uploader of that video I posted. I don't think he liked it, but I may check it out.

My top anime to watch right now would be Highschool of the dead, Sailormoon, Ranma, Inuyasha, and Kore ga Zombie Desuka.
I am waiting patiently for Highshool of the Dead OVA to come out this month. I can recall a time back in the late 80's when a certain anime name Robotech was on t.v after school. This was the gateway into anime. There after, it was Golgo 13, Guyver, Slayers, and Crying Freeman. Last year Slayers and Inuyasha made a comeback and really blew my mind again. Now only if Sailormoon would do the same.
