There's no sorry about reviving a topic. In LavaLit, it is okay. Maybe other Mugen places may not be okay except one I know. Yeah, this is a thread I made a long time ago. I have no knowledge of coding this kind. Plombo said those guys are still working on it. I started asking about this 2 years ago.

Well now its more than possible being that the ps3 is completely open :D
I hope the devs stop by to shed some light on things...

thanks

DC "had bad mood" because you asked about something that I came up with in the first place and has been given to you many, many times over. Plus you made it sound like we did something wrong because you refuse to use it.

As long as it adds something or there is some new info relevant to the discussion, topic necromancy is fine. Round robins are what end up getting locked.

It's certainly possible to port OpenBOR to PS3.  But as far as I know, there's no one working on it.

How can you think that i thought you did something wrong ,i did not used it because i wanted it to work in true VS mode.
For this to work, this should be started like mugen ,with at least one complete character done this way and released .
I dont have anything against standards,i think youre taking some stuff too personal here sometimes locking topics for no reason when its misunderstanding.
Let people talk, dont be mad or angry cause someone criticized something, like last time when maggas whined that someone broke something ,thats fine, but dont get offended by it,he might not get that some things got broke when new stuff is tested ,besides no one is forced to use some particular version of engine,we all have choice.
In the end we are moving forward yes ?

I would recommend staying away from PS3 until the lawsuits are over and depending on the outcome.  They are being ruthless, breaking U.S. laws, destroying their loyal customer base and think they can get away with it.... at least for the time being.....

I think it's gonna be too sad for those who want to have Openbor for PS3 including myself though (maybe from this day?). But I find it this pretty meaningful, which means I understand about the laws. :) I hope the lawsuits disappear from it 'cause I look forward for playing Openbor on PS3.

at least graf_chokolo is stading up to them that guy has some guts, he release his his bible to the public after he was told not to, and even when facing $1 million+ lawsuit.
and i think geohot will win, even tho i cant stand the kid, sony has gone the extra mile here to prove a point and make of them an example.

Thats why i was so happy the otherday when LG stuck it to them :D

I wonder if OpenBOR can work for/on PS3 just like Wii and some other ports.

Compilation on open SDK to PS3
« Reply #40 on: March 11, 2012, 01:31:22 pm »
Hello,

i'm not a developper but an active actor on the ps3's scene (also work around gitbrews project, tested and wrote script ton install linux on ps3) ...

nevermind, openBor (as mugen or paintown) should be compiled with PSL1GHT V2 and be installed on a CFW/MFW.

i need source code to port open BOR to be easily compiled with psl1ght V2,
if you want to do it yourself (because i'missing time) you can find detailled information on psl1ght.net and ps3devwiki.

of course, it can be runned directly from the XMB, and doesn't need any linux installation, but needs a CFW to lunch homebrews.

cheers

It should be an easy port since I had ported it long ago run on Other OS linux.  All the Endianness issues have been worked out.  Furthermore, I would imagine the graphic calls would be similar to PSP and only a few need to be changed to make it compatible.  The only reason I choose not to update my port was due to the fiasco that was Sony Vs Homebrew Devs...

so ...

why not create a git to share openBor and permit other to participate easily to the project by fork it ?

we just have to specifie files needed for the XMB, and the screen resolution.

you can find help and ressource around paintown author's (lunuxx, Schristopher, John) to have a good makefile ready to work.

cheers
