FYI for anyone who downloads Crane --- for some reason just saving the gifs from MUGEN Fighter Factory makes OpenBOR crash.  I had to open her sprites in GIMP and save them, then she'd load correctly in OpenBOR.
Thanks for working on Crane ALUCARD!  You did a much better job, however there's still some issues with the offsets.  Here's a link to the working version of Crane -- if you have time you should try fixing the offsets, and test in OpenBOR to make sure they're correct.

UPDATED CRANE:  http://www.mediafire.com/?17ls22laj9wqdf7

If ALUCARD needs help with this, could someone download the MUGEN Crane and help him fix the offsets?  She also needs her running animation and spawn animation.

How do I check that?  It's the one I downloaded in 2008.
Hang on, it's version 1.0.12

Here's a link if you need it:

Any news about it?
Or things in the works?

I've heard PGM/IGS's Demon Front is now playable. Perhaps The gladiator will be the next!

I can't wait to see some evolution in your MM project.

That's awesome news about Demon Front!
Fingers crossed about Gladiator.
I haven't done any further work on this mod, GI JOE has taken up all my free time!
And I also was hoping this would be more of a collaborative mod -- I'd love to see someone else run with it for a bit, then hand it off to the next person etc.

Some good news to report:  Bloodbane has finished making Lotus Master as the final boss!  I also added a new stage for him.

Here's a video of Lotus Master in action:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9c-lvTHly_k
I'm uploading the new PAK under completed games.
There is still a lot of things that could be added to this:  more levels, more variety of enemies.  Crane is mostly finished but needs someone to finish her up (she's in the char folder).

I still hope more people will collaborate on this mod!

Nice news!!

Actually I would love to help more this project, beside the soundpack I given to you.
But, I just can't code anything in Openbor.
If I can give you more help in an artistic way, I'll do it (sprite, sound...)

This project deserves a final release! :)

Thanks guys!
Ned, here's some things we could use help with:

1)  More enemies.  Right now most of the sprites are from IGS PGM games like Knights of Valour.  We also have one from SNK's Sengoku 3.  Maybe you can find some enemies with similar art style in other existing mods.  Capcom art style works with IGS style too.  But let's not use obvious characters (Ken, Ryu etc).      The other option is to rip sprites from IGS games by getting Final Burn Alpha and the ROM's to Knights of Valour 1 and 2.  Final Burn Alpha let's you pause the game and use something called Shot Factory to turn off the backgrounds and capture the sprites one at a time.  You can get Final Burn Alpha here: http://www.barryharris.me.uk/

2)  More backgrounds/levels.  Again, I mostly ripped backgrounds from Knights of Valour, but also used one Red Earth/Warzard background.

3)  Dialogue-Story.  Pierwolf does a great dialogue system, if you look at his Final Fight or Knights and Dragons mods.  The bosses in this game could say something before the boss fights start.  Again, here's some possible storylines for this game:
ONCE UPON A TIME IN CHINA PLOT:  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Once_Upon_a_Time_in_China
MARTIAL MASTERS PLOT: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Martial_Masters

4)  Crane - we're missing one playable character.  All the sprites and a rough version exists in the chars folder, but the sprites aren't all aligned etc.  Needs someone who is good with OpenBor stats to finish up.  You can use the Crane that is in the chars folder, and if you want more sprites or to see the offsets, you can download MUGEN Crane here: http://www.mediafire.com/?jw6sp4q3hikvc1z

5)  Scenes -- Between levels, we could use some scenes which help advance the story.  Again, see Pierwolf's Final Fight mod for some inspiration on this.  If you Google 'IGS PGM Martial Masters' you can find more artwork on these characters.

6)  Bosses - Bloodbane did such a great job coding Lotus Master.  If anyone who is good at scripting could improve the AI of our other bosses that would be fantastic.  Right now they're pretty easy to beat.

7)  Add health items/ power-ups inside of chests etc throughout the levels.  Again, these can be taken from existing games.  Many are already inside the chars/misc folder now, just need to be added to the levels.

I must say the more completed this game becomes, the more I agree with you guys that it needs to be a proper release!  Anyway, the 2.0 version with Lotus Master has been uploaded to the Completed section, just waiting to be approved.

If anyone wants to help with any of the above, that would be great!!!
