DEMO Streets of Rage: Silent Storm

3 years after the events of the SoR3 our heroes meet to defeat new evil.

Move set:

W up, A left, S down, D right to move your character

J - special
K - attack
L - jump

While holding an enemy hold A, S or D then press K to perform different grab attacks

While holding an enemy hold W then press K to jump behind an enemy,
then you can perform grab attacks again

While in jump press K, D+K, A+K, S+K to perform different jump attacks

In special cases use J to perform attack to escape from enemies surrounding

Use Forward + J to perform special attack


Write all your suggestions and warnings in this thread.
This is demo version. I will try to take it all into account in future.

One right off the bat: Switching sides during a grab needs to be mapped to Jump, not Up+Attack. It's traditional for SOR and the most initiative control setup. If you have trouble on how I'd be glad to help; it's not hard at all.

*Edit (again  :laughing:):* Still not a fan of the control scheme, but thank you for fixing the licensing violations. I have deleted all the now superfluous discussion about it from this thread.

Lets analyze it then:

+ As DC, i dont like the control scheme, cause it feels weird to move with those buttons there (but this problem can be fixed by players just going to control settings and change for some you'll like).

+ Testing Max moves, i realize he is great in this version. However, i dont know if it's for the enemy's short bar or something, but Max's Suplex (back + attack when grabbing) takes too low energy from the enemy. Just give me that impression but as i said, dont know if it's just for that bar issue.

+ Again, up + attack when grabbing to perform a "behind grab" is not SoR feeling. Most is from Final Fight (Final Fight 3 to be more precise). This can be solved for future releases; no big deal.

+ Also, to pick up money, gold, etc from the floor you have to press down + attack. I want to be more direct just pressing attack button. On the other hand, some objects are missing in order to find food to recover health (but i guess i need to continue interacting with the Stages).

+ Electra electric shock animation missing. But can be solved later.

+ Finally, The Boss. I guess it could be better to have the slow motion sequence when is defeated, as well as the Color bars or x1 x2 bars (blue or other color).

Overall, as a Demo is great and i hope all suggestions could be taken into consideration.

It's a great Mod and i like the songs, character appearance, moves (you could add another by running and special) and environment.

Ok, I've played, and I have something to say: AWESOME!

The music and the dark phases Ah ... I loved it!

The Goldie argues that more attacks,

I take a leap Galsia Attack gives only one hit and cut me down to the ground.

Electra is divine! Raven was bigger than Axel and Blaze.
Blaze runs as if he were happy, LOL, weird!

I think the new keyboard config is better than Genesis six-buttons.

And about the power of Max, is just the first version. When I played the SoRRV2 Max was one of the weaker characters, mtrain can surely be fixed in next update. Just wait.

How do you find the idea of ingame dialogues? is it good or not? maybe remove it? First i want to make something like cutscene betwen stages like in SoRR, but then change it.

What about bosses? They movement?

What about level design? Is it normal or they should be more diverse..

What about obstacles? I dont add them.

What about weapons? I dont add them.

mtrain, are you DLing what i sent you?

Regarding this, The picking up items issue was a mistake from me! I got to down "one spot" and pick the money; that's why i sense i had to press down and attack button.

As for the Boss slow motion, you should make it. Once the Boss is lying on the floor, about 3 secs. later Dialogues could start.

By the way... For that i sent you, i got an open party. So when you open it, It will start at Stage 3!!! oopsy!!

I don't think increasing meat would be a good idea : winning a new life every 25000 points, which happens regularly throughout the game, is better than meat IMHO.
