Can't make pak file

Hi, I'm new to openbor. I was reading the manual on how to make pak files and also exploding them. Problem is it doesn't want to work most times.

I have exploded the original pak file that came with BOR. I made some changes to a character and dropped the data folder onto packer.exe and nothing happened. I then tried the borpak.exe and still nothing. I even made the borpak -b -d data "mymod.pak" makepak.bat file. But none of this is making a pak file. Usually the dos window pops up and vanishes and sometimes it comes up saying error permission denied press any key to continue.

How do you do this?

Edit/create your own packer.bat with:

%0\..\borpak -b -d "data" test.pak
"data" is the name of the folder to pak

test.pak is the name of your pak

Also if you want to explode into your current folder you can edit/create packexplode.bat with:

Code: [Select]

%1\..\borpak -d "%0" %1
You'll need to create a folder named copy in the current dir for this to work.

Oh and I almost forgot. If this doesn't work and you get permission denied it's probably a protected pak file (ie one you cannot explode).

Try another one that uses non-original sprites. I recommend the Halloween pak since it's relatively small at 30mb and has lots of useless junk inside you can cut.

I think The OpenBorStats editor can make pak files too. you can get it in the downloads section.
