The 'new' stuff in a nutshell is basically that there are three variants of the game -- you can select the FF3 characters from start in one version; and the StreetFighter characters from MrQ's classic HFF games in another version of the game. - Oh, and there's a revised 'port' of the HFF2 BGM for the FF3 game mode.

I have to say that I never really liked Crisis Evil - sure, the idea is great; but there are many many problems in the gameplay department that could have been avoided.

Harlem Hero is the author of both Crisis Evil games btw.

How to mod:
1 Pick an interesting game: There are plenty of 8-bit/16-bit classics waiting for a remake
2 Rip your own sprites & stages
3 Use a custom palette: http://borrevolution.vg-network.com/tutorial.htm
4 Check your offsets: http://lavalit.com:8080/index.php?topic=1099.0

Did you know?
Using void main()
{
playgif("data/my.gif", 0, -4, 1);
}

as spawnscript streams a GIF anim instead of loading it

I just would like to let you guys know that the Dreamcast edition of Final Fight: The Last Round has been downloaded 7873 times until DCEvolution's server had been hacked in December last year.

Congratulations, Q  :cheers!:

FF:LR is my favorite Final Fight game  :)

Just wonderin is there a work around so that I could open up all 3 variants when I play it on my psp?

Not without opening the PAK file and modifying the .txt files. I added some notes which tells you what does what in the PAK file, so you could work from there.

Of importance to you would be the following:

/data/index.txt

Code: [Select]
Model2.txt --- StreetFighter Version
Level2.txt --- StreetFighter Version (2 Players)
Level4.txt --- StreetFighter Version (4 Players)

- rename to models.txt and levels.txt and rePAK it.

/data/bgs/index.txt

Code: [Select]
Selct2.gif --- Street Fighter Version (2 Players)

[...]

Titl2.gif
Titl2b.gif

(title screens for Street Fighter versions)

- rename to select.gif and title.gif/titleb.gif

/data/music/index.txt

Code: [Select]
men2.bor --- Street Fighter Version
- rename to menu.bor

You don't need the other version since all it does is to "emulate" the original release of Final Fight: Last Round ( with FF1+2 characters; although without secret FF3 characters ).

I've updated the links in the OP:

Quote
Download - http://www.dcevolution.net/clicks.php?itemid=29

Info & Covers - http://www.dcevolution.net/index.php?id=final_fight__the_last_round

Please note that using the Windows port you can only access the FF3 cast in FF:LR SE. - Well, that and the imported FF3 soundtrack from HFF2 for the FF3 game mode.  :)

EDIT: The game's also available on LavaLit's DL section, filed under "Dreamcast Mods": http://lavalit.com:8080/index.php?action=tpmod;dl=item156

I had downloaded a while, a version of the final round fight last SE to pack everything in the folder of ready to OpenBOR PC, I can not find it again. this is what you've linked to the emulator dreamcast right? or am I wrong.

The original game can be found here: http://lavalit.com:8080/index.php?action=tpmod;dl=item53

To play the SE version all you need to do is to either mount or burn the image to a CDR. Then click on "OPENBOR_WIN.EXE". :)

thanks friend, you solved my problem :)

by the way, I have something to be sampled.
while I was searching google for the FF SE.
by coincidence I came across an interesting game.
is called: Serio's Castlevania Fighter.
very cool moves of the chars and stages of the game.
would be interesting in this game engine OpenBOR.

is a very good game made by fans.
i really enjoyed.
then I would share this link with you guys and the forum.

Serio's Castlevania Fighter.
Made with Mugen, another 2D engine...although the creator hates the scene that supports the engine.

THIS is why you don't mess up with original values in mods, for example, jumpheight :(
