Daily Snapshots Info
« on: March 16, 2011, 12:15:01 am »
All Platforms have been restored with the exception to Mac OS X.  Platforms included in the latest build (3208) are the following...

Dreamcast
Dingoo
Gp2x
Linux (32 Bit)
Linux (64 Bit)
PSP
Wii
Windows
Wiz

The next build to be posted after 3208 will also include Mac OS X.  Furthermore, The Linux, Windows and Mac OS X distributions contain a newer version of borpak, paxplode and packer.  It is recommended that module creators upgrade their packaging tools.  The enhancements made to borpak have greatly decreased the load times within OpenBOR.

thanks a lot!
The enhancements made to borpak have greatly decreased the load times within OpenBOR.
well, that was only correct until i introduced a super fast filename cache in rev 3186.
which uses the super fast hashmap enhanced double linked list i introduced in 3101, 3098, 3081.
it shouldnt make any difference now how you packed your PAK.

I don't think we really need the paxplode and packer wrapper scripts in there.  I included those a year ago for modders who were used to the old tools, to encourage them to upgrade.  But now I don't really think that's necessary.

Hello I downloaded the latest build and I got quiet a few issues, 1. when I come to adjust the settings of the mods It sets me up at automatic on the screen adjust can not select anything else witch is not helpful for what I am playing it on. 2. It has a really bad problem on crasing to the desktop then not being able to use the mouse I have to restart my computer. 3 It freeze when I get to game select then the whole computer goes black I mean the screen I can not exit even by ctrl alt and delete I just have to power off by the power button witch in turns make me have to do a diagnosis on my pc. By the way I am running the engine on windows 7 home premium 64 bit any ideas thanks.

Have you tried deleting settings.sav and rerun the build? most builds are incompatible with settings.sav for previous builds.

@rez, blazefeilding
whenever bor crashes, you should check the file OpenBorLog.txt in the Logs folder, and paste the output when you report such a crash.
this we way we can analyze and fix the error.
your error reports are useless without that information.

I have a similar issue. I'm using Windows XP SP 2.
When I start a game IN FULLSCREEN, and hit the Windows key on my keyboard - even with game paused - the desktop and the Start menu appears while the OpenBOR screen disappears, but the mouse pointer gets stuck in upper left corner.
I have to use ctrl-alt-canc to call the task manager and force-quit OpenBOR to regain control of my mouse.
This doesn't happen using windowed mode. Log doesn't show any error message.
