iOS/iPhone Port
« on: April 15, 2011, 07:02:13 pm »
I've been a bit busy porting OpenBOR to iPhone.  Things are looking good.  I get the logo and menu screen.  But it then crashes.  Just a little side project while I've bee trying to optimized Vorbis for PSP.  Just wanted to share with my fellow Mac Enthusiasts.

Yeah... I might have to release it under Cydia or create a repo.  I don't think Apple would allow us on the app store.  Due to the nature of most mods.

At the moment I'm not happy with the SDL library.  It's too limited...  I will need to write platform specific code.  I will post a YouTube video tonight with it running a mod.

Super exited about this! Great work.
I would love to create a game/mod using OpenBOR  and have it on the app store.

There is allot of work ahead of me.   I need to rewrite all the I/O classes specifically for iOS.  Furthermore, I need to write a virtual joystick and buttons and I'm new to objective-c, so this may take longer then I expected. LibSDL is not cutting it.  I will post something once I get farther along.....

If you haven't done the video code yet, remember that the OpenGL video code is compatible with OpenGL ES 1.0, which is supported by iOS.
