i was thinking... maybe fredo46 and HideRaisen are using some other platform? the game is tested only on PC, so i don't know if it works for PSP, dreamcast and the other platforms aviable.

I have WinXP 64 bits. I know it causes troubles sometimes (Vermilion Sword, for example). Got to wait until monday to try it on a WinXP 32bits. I think I'll manage  >:(

I tried it a few times last night but whenever I tried to choose a play to go, the game just cuts off, and the log says nothing about it. I did use the latest build though, so I don't know what's goin' on.

That's odd! I even use ver 3665 and the demo plays fine.

Have tried this one.
As if I was playing the arcade.
You really made a good work.

Agree with BB, my suggestion is you'd better use script to build a real map system.
I found that you didn't set the hero invincible after guard which makes guard less practicle because you're still kept open.

Looks tight!

I played the demo the other day, it already has huge replay value (I don't think I started the story off the same way twice)
and the overall game is very detailed.  You captured the old arcade feel quite well, thou this is definately one game that is more INNOVATION than IMMITATION.

One suggestion I have that when the textbox and icon appears for enemy/boss encounters etc. you should play a corresponding sound effect for them when they pop up.  Example the 'boss' appears, his text shows up, 'muhahahaha we will crush you blah blah' play a sound effect here like a grunt or a laugh.  This is useally what is in RPG games, sorry if I explained bad, you wouldn't need new sound effects, just use sounds the enemies already have.

Another thing is I always found myself accidentally skipping the dialogue boxes because I was already fighting.  It would be cool to stop any user input for a second when they appear to prevent skipping them by mistake.

Also it would be cool to see some blood hit flashes for the swords etc.

Hello Pierwolf !
Played the demo yesterday night, great, here are some suggestions :
- sometimes there's no time to see the text boxes when bashing the attack button...
- would be great to see on the map what missions have been done once
- small bug : when there's a "go" in the upper direction, the "go" in the left direction appears alos, though it's not possible to go left
- would be great to be able to buy items in the cities with the gold collected.

Anyway, keep up the good work ! :)

as i told, i know almost nothing about scripts, if someone more expert wants to help me with this, please be welcome!  :)
I found that you didn't set the hero invincible after guard which makes guard less practicle because you're still kept open.
like before, there is some way to do this with scripts?

actually you can repeat missions as many times as you wants, in the final release of the game there will be 4 tipes of mission (green, yellow, blue, red, the colours shows the difficulty); at the beginning you will only see the green missions, then after you complete one, even the yellow missions will show up, and if you pass to one of those and complete it, the green missions will vanish and the blue appears, and so on...
purpose of the game is to do as many easy missions as you can in order to gain more lives (you only start with one life), and when you feel ready,  to pass to the most difficult ones and so on... until the final red missions that will be the ending.

hope to have been clear!

Maybe a Samurai would be good for this game?
