Attach the log file found in logs folder here then we can figure out what's the problem.

* Also, for some reason, the PAK file is set as a Wordpad document, and I can't change it.

You are using a version of OpenBoR that is over 2 years old.

Many , many.......Many new features have been added since then.

The error is that your old copy of OpenBoR does not understand the new features that the new mods are using.

Go to the engine section and download the latest version of OpenBoR from the stickied thread.

Posting Hacked modules is not allowed unless you have permission from the original modder, or you pack in a very visible notice to the module itself that explains it is a hack, who did the hacking, and credits original author.

I did send him a message but received no replay as of yet.

Till then I won't post anything till I get the a-ok from him.

No offence was meant, there where just so many errors I figured that improving on it would make it better besides, I think that the whole idea of OPEN SOURCE means community driven updates.

I had no intention of taking credit for creating LoR, that's why I added only the scripts into the thread that contains the original posting of the original developer of the Pak file.

I think that a license of sorts should be added to the down loadable paks stating that its licensed and should never be allowed to be edited. You know, the total opposite of OPEN SOURCE.

It's not like that, no one is accusing you of credit taking.

The engine IS open Source, and mods can be haked freely for one's own use. I think you need to brush up on what Open Source refers to. It has never nor will ever mean "take the material and do whatever you feel like with it". Aside from that, the engine and moudules are separate entities. Modules are not licensed at all as they have no legal right to exist being made from copyright material.

Anyway, to alleviate issues from users making poor hacks and effectively subverting the original author in the process, we instituted the policy you ran into. To be fair it must be enforced no matter the situation.

If you can't get a response from the original author, all you need to do is add an intro to the mod making it clear what the deal is, and you'll be good to go.

Not a problem then, would it suffice to add a readme file stating (ie would you allow the posting on your site)
something like......

Start of text
original author = bob
I just did a couple of updates here and there.
end of text

As I have no intention of causing damages and just want to help make the game more enjoyable for the community.

It also needs to be in the module itself. The best bet is to modify the title screen. It's easy to do and very visible.

In my opinion, I don't wanna say this, but I gotta be honest, I don't like it. It is because of the cutscenes going too fast. I got so bored when the cutscenes in the story were too fast. It does not mean it looks like a crap but the speed of the storyline is what I have a problem with, which made me feel bored, but it's good. By myself being too nice and too kind, I would say it's a great mod. :bored: I played it once and got bored of it. The gameplay is nice. Everything's good except the speed of cutscenes.
