You know... you're posting this in wrong section.

Anyways, my inspiration for making beat'm up game is mostly from these games:

- Streets of Rage series
- Final Fight 3
- Denjin Makai series

Fighting game series. Blaz Blue, KOF, Xmen, Marvel. Combos and complex specials.

My drive is towards dynamic gameplay, and trying to create them. I've never seen the above gameplay elements adapted into beat'em up games, or rpg games, so making these is more of a need than impulse. With this in mind, Masterderico's Jennifer encouraged me to move into OpenBOR modding.

The story he presented, the theme and atmosphere spoke to me in a heavenly voice saying, "See, such magnificence, isn't it?"

Anyway, I've always wanted to make games, and loved the idea of creating them. OpenBOR and your enthusiasm here has become very inspiring.

I always wanted something like openBor, initially I landed up editing a Street Fighter II port that came out on dos way way back in the 90's but it was limited and pc's just where not powerfull enough back then for arcade perfect.

Then mugen came out but I lost interest so quickly with that, bad ai, bad match ups and was just not fun at all.

Then much much much much later I came accross openBor and played Dragons of Rage done by kingherb and that was it, I wanted in. So i started with openBorStats and started developing MixMasters .

Dragons of Rage is still my most played openBor Game, I even used it as my base for my game.

Edit....
I don't want to sound like I'm totally dissing Mugen but I have never played it against a real person, if I had to guess this would be Mugen's Strength and probably the very reason why it was written. I should perhaps try that someday, I most probably will be impressed.

My main influence would be Double Dragon 3 on the NES and on PC.

I remember about 15 yrs ago when my neighboor had bought Double Dragon 3 on the PC. We were HUGE Double Dragon 2 NES fans, and we had never even heard of Double Dragon 3 when he brought it home.

The graphic style was so eerie and the gameplay and game concepts were so strange... I straight up fell in Love.

But Double Dragon 3 struck a nerve because it was just so hard, and I love hard games... You know that pride and joy when you get to develop the ability to get further through the game, seeing the new sites and new enemies. Always such a thrill.

Finally I have to say that the Japan Level is just sooooooo cool... Im currently working on a Beat im up that rips most of DD3 NES resources right now. And I want it to be all Japan Style Ninjas fighting Each other. It will be called Meteor Dragon Might.

I'd like to add that I'm a huge modder for Elder Scrolls 3 Morrowind, I was so thrilled when I found out about BoR, I love it and Im having a blast playing with it. So I'd like to thank everyone that has been helping me out and everyone involved with this Site and BoR.

Cheers!!!!! and Slice 'em up!!!
Love conquers all

Double Dragon 3 on the NES
That was my first NES game, it was the reason why I got it. It was the best Double Dragon ever. Really great story, brilliant sound fx and so much more...

True Dat  :cheers!: Its one of my ideas for a ever increasing and choosable difficulty in my game. You can self regulate the game to the difficulty that you enjoy. The next release will have more flexible difficulty now:)

I'd probably say King of the Monsters 2, and Marvel Super Heroes War of the Gems. They were always my favorites.

Mainly the streets of rage of rage series, but I wanted to make a sonic beat'em up and searched if any were done, that's how I found MegaSonic by CybersoulX. That mod is the main reason I'm here today, and I still plan to fix and remake it, but Sega Brawlers takes up most of my focus.
